Worth it - Fantastic way to learn more about Japanese culture. My tour guide, Hikari, did hard work translating with the Maiko for me. If the Maiko/Geiko/Geisha culture is something you want to learn about, hard to beat asking one questions directly. And the dances I saw were very interesting. The game was fun Also the food was nice. Very traditional. Is it expensive? Yes. But worth it if you make the most of it.

Highlight of our Japan trip - This experience was the highlight of our trip. My husband and I had an amazing time meeting Geisha-san, and it was so cool to be able to ask her questions and then watch her perform. We also felt very lucky that a geisha was able to attend our dinner. We were expecting a Maiko so that was an amazing surprise! Our tour guide Peco was exuberant and clearly loved what she did. Plus the food was a fun new experience and unlike anything I’d eaten before. I’d highly recommend this experience if you’re at all interested in maiko/geisha and historical Gion.

Great Maiko experience, venue needs improvement - It was a great nite with Peco who was an excellent, enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide Starting from a walk in Gion, where we learned a lot about the district and traditions, going over into a delicious dinner in a traditional restaurant and ending the day with a cultural dance and talk with a Maiko. Despite being a new Maiko she was very confident, accomplished and happy to chat about all aspects of her life. Peco as a guide was great. She was open to every question, very knowledgeable and her English is good. Because of her English the talk with the Maiko was easy. The restaurant food was delicious. However the room was not of a standard we hoped for. We expected a room with more style and there was coat hangers all around the walls which unfortunately detracted from the ambience and most photos are marred by this, despite me moving some of them. And one of the waiters had on a grubby top. For the price these aspects should be improved. Thank you so much Peco and our Maiko
