A highly informative and enjoyable tour - We loved the Geisha tour, our guide was lovely and had such a deep understanding of the Geisha culture. We met an apprentice Geisha and learnt a lot about her life and training. I'd highly recommend this tour for an insiders perspective and to help support the Geisha community.

A don’t-miss experience! - Can’t recommend this experience more! Ken was extemelu knowledgeable, personable and energetic. His desire to dispel long-held myths about the world of the geisha was clear and he did it in such an honest and straightforward way. Our introduction to an apprentice geisha - a meiko was extremely compelling. Dinner was excellent and the overall experience is not to be missed!

An exceptional moment - We had an exceptional time with our guide Ken. He passed on his passion for geisha art throughout the discovery of the Gion district. Coffee with a maiko was the highlight of this visit. We enjoyed being able to ask him questions about his role as maiko, his daily life. The dances she shared with us will live long in our memory. I recommend 100% this tour.

A must do tour - This was a really special tour. The opportunity to have a private tour of the Gion district with Ken and his knowledge of the area was on point. When walked around the area Ken was very attentive to each of the tourist in the group. My sister has a vision loss and Ken made sure she kept up and did not miss a beat. When we arrived at the dinner, criss cross apple sauce seating, the atmosphere was athentic to the culture. The food just kept coming out. I enjoyed meeting a Geisha and having the chance to speak with her. She answered all of our questions and was so graceful. Her dance was very sweet and Ken explained the meaning of her art. Would highly recommend.

Amazing evening in Gion - Despite the rubbish weather on the day, this tour was phenomenal! Our guide was brilliant and he was a local who knew the area really well! The tour of Gion was great and we could ask lots of questions about the art of Geisha. But the absolute highlight of this tour was the dinner and the maiko performance. The food was really good and the performance even better. I highly recommend this tour!

Highly recommended tour! - This is highly recommended! Ken was very informative and clear in his intent to share Japanese culture & educate people about geiko culture. Likes: Learned a lot, English was fluent & easy to hear, course easy to walk, allowed time to stop & take photos, small group size (8 total), geisha performance in a small setting, time to take photos with geiko, and time to ask her questions. I have already recommended this tour to others. People are impressed with the video and photos I have shared of this tour!

8/10 - Educational cultural experience. The Q&A at dinner was interesting. - Overall: 8/10 —Geisha experience: 10/10 —Guide friendliness: 8/10 —Dinner: 6/10 If interacting with a Geisha Apprentice is important to you, this will be a worthwhile experience. This tour includes a dinner where a Geisha apprentice comes in to perform and hosts a brief Q&A. I wish I knew more about what to expect from the dining experience. We had to sit Indian style in a cramped room with no AC (not too enjoyable after walking several miles in 30-35 Celsius temps). To say it was uncomfortable would be an understatement. The actual food was average and no alcohol drinks were included. One of my least favorite meals I had while in Japan (food wise at least, the Geisha performance and Q&A was worth it). Overall I learned about Geisha culture and enjoyed the Geisha performance + Q&A at dinner. Due to that, I would still recommend. With that said, know what to expect with dinner. Do not expect a super comfortable dining experience.
