An incredible and fun Japanese cooking experience! - We had the most wonderful time with Anthony and his family! We learned how to make dashi, Japanese omelets, miso soup, and put together a lovely classic Japanese meal. Anthony's family was incredibly friendly and it was such a nice experience to dine and chat with them. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a unique cooking class that feels much more genuine and real. Next time we're in Kyoto we will absolutely book with Anthony again!

An Unforgettable Dinner of Warmth, Culture, and Delicious Food - Our dinner at this family’s home was the highlight of our trip to Japan. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, and it was a joy to gain their perspective on life in Japan. I loved hearing their observations and comparing Japanese culture to American culture—it was both enlightening and engaging. Their warmth and openness made us feel right at home, and, of course, the food was absolutely delicious. This experience offered a unique and personal connection to Japan that I’ll treasure forever.

A wonderful evening! - So glad that we decided to try out this Cooking Class / relaxing Family Evening. We even had another, rather traditional Cooking Class the day before. It was not bad, but it can't compare to this! Aside from learning a lot about the Japanese Kitchen, the ingredients, habits, recipes etc, we had a really great Time - and everyone knows: Food usually tastes better in company!! Hope same goes to the Hosts, wish you all the best!!

Enjoyable and educational - Anthony and Naomi were great hosts and cooking teachers. We will definitely put what we learned to use. Enjoyed the conversation with them as well as with the other couple from Vienna. Just what we wanted. Home cooking that we can actually do vs. fancy cooking we won’t be able to do.

Nice intercultural cooking at a warm japanese home. - Anthony and Naomi have been great hosts. We spent a nice evening with them and their three lovely children. It has been a curious exchange about how is life in Japan and abroad in Europe and for teaching us hit to cook Japanese . We got some good instruction and ideas how to make Japanese homemade food at home. They prepared everything lovely and even gave us a ride back to the railways ration. We are looking forward for the recipes to be received.

Fun evening in the quiet suburbs with great food and hosts- you even get to help with prep! - We are 5 old friends visiting Japan and thought we’d try something different in Kyoto. We had a lovely night at Anthony’s house. He and Naomi are great hosts. We helped prepare dinner , which was delicious and got some ideas to try out at home. It was so nice to talk to people who live in Japan about their lives and understand some of the culture from their perspective. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Really enjoyed getting out of the city too. I would go back if I was in Kyoto! Recommended.

Like at home, with the pleasure of sharing a good time :) - For my fourth trip to Japan, I wanted to avoid tourist areas as much as possible. I wanted to share warm and authentic moments. I've been dreaming of doing a cooking class in Japan for a long time. I think with Anthony and his wonderful family, I was able to make all of these wishes come true at once. It’s accessible cuisine for all levels and delicious. The family adapts to your tastes if necessary and that is very appreciable. After cooking, we share this lovingly prepared meal together. Thank you again for this great experience! :)
