What an honor to spend time with her and get a chance to ask questions and take pictures. This was the highlight of my trip to Japan, very highly recommend

Dinner Maido - Tea is the best guide! We had a great experience. The dinner with a maido was the full package: food, drinks, culture and games.

An unforgettable experience - We had the opportunity to enjoy a traditional dinner and to talk to a geisha who performed a dance and played a drinking game with us. This will be a magical moment from our honeymoon that we will always cherish. A special thanks to our guide and interpreter who accompanied us in the streets of Gion district and answered to all our questions.

Unforgettable Maiko Experience - We were a couple on our honeymoon with an overall tour group size of 8 plus our guide Yumoto. We strolled through Kyoto’s largest Geisha district with some stops along the way describing cultural context. Yumi was a fantastic guide. We went to a local restaurant and had a traditional Japanese dinner that Yumi described with each course. We started off with small bites appetizers and then sushi moving to cooked foods that included hot pot vegetarian and local way beef as well as noodle and finished with matcha ice cream with a complimentary sweet in the bowl for dessert. The highlight began when our Maiko arrived. We started by asking questions that Yumi translated for us. Then we played a traditional drinking game like a modified rock-paper (no scissors) game played to the maiko’s song rhythm. We had also watched a dance presentation. It was a special treat that would not have been possible unless going with a translator. It was one of the biggest highlights of our trip. We had about 90 minutes with the Maiko and plenty of time and interaction with her. We also had the opportunity to take pictures with her. Two other couples in the group were from the USA and one was from Italy. Everyone was a lot of fun. Thank you Yumi!

Great guide, tour, food, and cultural experience - This tour was my favorite part about visiting Japan! Yumi was a very kind, energetic, and knowledgeable guide. Very eager to answer all of our questions and to introduce us to such a unique aspect of Japanese culture. The walking portion of the tour was informative, the food was amazing, and meeting with the maiko was so special. We would definitely be sure to have this experience again if we returned to Kyoto.

Could be better seating - We enjoyed talking with Maiko. The seating arrangement could have been better as those of us on the far end could not see her well as others were between us. It will have been great to have all of us be able to see her dance but most of use had only a partial view due to the seating and others blocking …but there was no where for them to go. One person in our party is deaf and this ability to see is critical.
