Learn how to prep several Japanese dishes in an afternoon - This was a lovely way to spend an afternoon. I learned a lot and the food we prepared was really tasty - however it was more homestyle cooking than Izakaya-style. The teacher was lovely and had very good English.

Wonderful class - This class was so well run: organized, informative, and fun. The teachers’ English is excellent, as are the English written instructions. We made a wide variety of dishes and as a vegetarian I appreciated how well they accommodated my dietary requirements for every single one. The pumpkin soup recipe is especially easy for being so delicious.

Fun cooking class! - Had the best time at this cooking class. To me food is the best way to learn about a culture and they do a great job sharing the history of the dishes. It’s a fun day!

Highly recommended for beginner and avid cooks alike! - Absolutely incredible! The chefs were knowledgeable, funny, and incredibly welcoming. There was a range of experience with cooking in the class and everyone was able to follow along and make some very tasty and visually appealing dishes. I'm a pretty avid cook and I'm really excited to experiment with the new flavour combinations (and utensils) I've learned from this class. This was my favourite activity in Kyoto!

Great class - I had a wonderful time learning how to cook various Japanese dishes. The food was delicious. The hosts were kind and delightful. However, they offered us a glass of sake with our meal and I assumed it was already included with what we paid for, but at the end she unexpectedly said we owed 600 yen per glass. I don’t mind paying for it but I feel like they should have said the cost when offering it.

Typical cuisine of Kyoto - The course lasted about 3 hours, during which we prepared, under the guidance of 2 ladies, 6 typical dishes: pumpkin soup, cucumber salad, meatballs, fried chicken and lotus rolls, matcha dessert. Once we arrived we washed our hands, they gave us an apron and made us sit in the assigned station. The atmosphere was pleasant, even if the air conditioner was not able to keep the temperature adequate. However, we were more than satisfied with the experience.
