Highly recommend - This experience was very well organised. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The dress up part with the kimono and hair was the most fun. Plenty of time for photos.

An experience not to be missed - We stayed at the tea house in October, and it was definitely one of the best experiences of the entire trip. We also had a setback and had to move our reservation, they were kind enough to insert us on another day albeit at short notice. We attended the tea ceremony in the morning, first of all we got dressed, they have many kimonos to choose from. There was also the possibility to make various photos in the two gardens. The tea ceremony was in English, the lady spoke very well and was very helpful and engaging. At the end we took a few more pictures and we could also keep the kimonos for the day, and go around the city. For this reason, perhaps the morning shift is better because then you have more choice and you can prolong the experience even walking through Gion. Even if already done, we would gladly repeat the experience.

Obligated ceremony - The perfect activity to finish a tour of Kyoto. If you visit the city and its temples, you should complete the experience with the traditional tea ceremony. Dressing in traditional clothes is an unmissable extra and the explanation is incredible.

An affordable experience to remember - Today my wife and I visited one of the best experiences of our 2 week holiday. We arrived with warm welcomes from all of the ladies who immediately ushered us to our separated dressing rooms to select our kimonos, to which they provided a wide range of colours and styles and even offered to style the ladies hair in traditional styles. We were then provided the time to take photos in their picturesque gardens with a number of traditional props. On completion of the pictures we moved to the tea ceremony which we both found the most culturally informative experience of our trip. This included a variety of small treats and a matcha tea each. Overall this experience was great value for money and would highly recommend to anyone wishing to broaden their cultural experience of Japan.

poor experience - It was nice and the hosts were friendly, but it was very overpriced for the scarce bits of explanation about the history of tea ceremony. The ceremony itself took maybe 3 minutes. Even the lonely planet explains more about the tea ceremony culture and history then this "experience"
