All I can say is that it... - All I can say is that it was a great experience. It’s in an older section of Kyoto which was very cool. You get there and in 5 minutes they did my hair and wrapped me in a beautiful kimono. After they took pictures with our own phones ( no pressure to buy their pictures) we watched a traditional but shorter tea ceremony. It was lovely.

Wonderful tea ceremony in Kyoto! - 10/10 experience here in Kyoto! Wonderful atmosphere. Came here with my husband on our honeymoon. When we arrived, check-in was very simple and some of the folks speak English. The men change in the same building but women are escorted across the street to a second facility where we can change (given bags to hold our belongings) and have a wide selection of kimonos. The ladies there are all very polite and help get you dressed as well as do your hair in a cute bun style. The garden is the perfect backdrop for photos. One of the employees was available to assist with taking photos. There are also a few props (fans, masks, umbrellas). The ceremony itself was lovely and informative. Our host (can’t remember her name unfortunately) was lovely and full of knowledge. It was great learning about the traditions behind the tea ceremony and being able to prepare it ourselves. They even give you the option to the wear the kimonos around Kyoto the rest of the day (return before they close) which is great if you were already planning on renting a kimono elsewhere. A fun 1.5 hour experience! Would highly recommend.

A whole new respect for Japanese Traditions - This was an incredible experience that I highly recommend as must for visiting Japan. I left with a whole new respect for Japanese traditions and an understanding of the tea ceremony. Location was also great as we were able to do some sightseeing in the nearby arietta afterwards.

Geisha for an afternoon - This was the experience of a lifetime! Meeting and being fitted in a geisha kimono, having my hair fixed with flowers and then seeing my husband in his regalia wa incredible. (My husband actually started to cry when he saw me!) The only drawback was that I lost one of my new silver earrings - probably in the changing area.
