A charming evening! - I met my guide at the designated place, and she appologized the others participants had cancelled at short notice, but she still went through with it. And in the end this proved to be a lot better. My guide, Mayu, was fluent in english, so communicating was super easy, and she had a lot of fun and educational information to tell while walking from place to place. She was charming and friendly, and a gracious host, and a pleasure to talk to. The final bar/restaurant was the big hightlight of the evening. Tusen takk, Mayu. Chriss, Norway

Fun Evening with Mayu! - I chose this tour because I wanted to go bar hopping and meet new people, I didn't want to drink too much (so I liked that drinks were included and not unlimited), and my friend had done a different tour (the Kyoto Night Foodie one) with Mayu last year and highly recommended her as a guide. I lucked out: Mayu happened to be the guide for a bar hopping tour while I was in Kyoto! This ended up being a private tour for my dad and I, since the third person didn't show. That could have been awkward with a different guide, but Mayu was super fun, engaging, and informative and I had an amazing time! Across three bars, we had four drinks and four small plates, which was more than enough for me for dinner. I wouldn't say the first two bars were anything special on their own, though I did like that we got to sit on the floor in the traditional style in the first one. Mostly, they were just great places for us to relax and chat and get to know Japan through Mayu's unique perspective (she had lived in the US for two years in elementary school). The final bar was a karaoke bar, and that was LOTS of fun! Mayu encouraged us to sing even though we were a bit shy at first, and also sang two songs for us that showed the Japanese culture. The bar owner there was also fun, giving us a sake tasting and playing the tambourine while we sang. All in all, if you can do this tour with Mayu, I highly recommend it!

So much fun! - Peco was amazing! She was so sweet and taught us a lot about Kyoto while helping us get to know each other and have a great night. It was our favorite thing we've done in our week in Japan so far!

Hop, hop, hop! - Very nice to bar hopping, our guide seemed a bit shy to me in the beginning, but the group quickly picked up pace, to nicely peak during the karaoke! Recommended!

If your looking for a guide, look no more - We went with Mathew, he was absolutely lovely. Knowledgeable of the culture, and the area. We went during an evening on our honeymoon and had an amazing time. Easy to talk to, really personable and would always recommend to everyone if you would like to have amazing evening and learn more about Kyoto.

It was fun. - Nami is the most Guide, it was really fun. Plus, I'm very good at English. I went on that tour with two Australians that day. Nami knows Kyoto well. He taught me a lot about Gion and Japanese culture. It was interesting. Thank you very much.

Ok tour - lovely guide but need more to justify price - The tour guide was lovely. Very kind and welcoming. To make the tour better, I would suggest 2 things: 1. Need to go to more than 3 locations and have more than 3 drinks to justify the cost 2. There should be 5-10 fun facts to explain about Kyoto or the food and drink (e.g. when did the food become common, when would Japanese typically have this food)
