Great experience! Highly Recommend! - We loved this tour! We came to Kyoto expecting to see beautiful temples and tranquil settings (and were thrown off by how big and bustling Kyoto actually is) —- but this tour helped us see that side of Kyoto. Toru did a beautiful job of teaching us about the history behind the places we visited, and gave us an appreciation for the culture behind what we saw. It was all on foot, and as it’s July it was HOT… be prepared for a steep long hike to Monkey Park (our daughter is 8 and did fine on the hike, but it would’ve been tough for small children— and their parents who’d likely end up carrying them :). This was our favorite part of our visit so far! Toru’s knowledge made the experience so much more meaningful than it would’ve been had we gone on our own. Highly recommend!

Great experience of Kyoto with Remi - Remi was a great guide... Very informed and accommodating to all our varied requests. We were a mixed group of eight from various countries, incl. a 6-year-old. It was a very hot and humid day, probably not the best to be climbing hills to see the monkeys, but he took us to different routes to avoid too many tourists. Well timed stops along the way for refreshments and lunch and the sake tasting was a great bonus. All in all a worthwhile experience!

Great tour and even greater tour guide - This was the best tour we had in Japan. Our tour guide, Agustin, clearly loves his job. He is knowledgeable, friendly, and engages well with all tour participants. In addition to the regular tourist spots, he showed us where he buys his favorite Furikake and Wasabi nuts and these are now our favorites as well.

Really enhanced our visit - We really enjoyed our tour of Arashiyama with Toru! He was super friendly and so knowledgeable about the area, giving us additional information and stories about the local sites and recommendations to elevate our experience. Despite the heat we enjoyed all the sights, especially the monkey park.

If you have limited time in Kyoto, I'd devote half a day to this again in a heartbeat. - Where to begin? A great host, who taught us so much and was happy to answer our many questions. A great group, there were only three of us on the tour that day, so it was pretty darn private. It was also a quieter day in Arashiyama, so that was a perk we couldn't have planned for. The big highlights for me were seeing the bamboo forest, going beyond the the forest into a secluded garden, and climbing up to Monkey Park which was difficult in the moment but super rewarding at the top. Thanks for the great tour, Art! (I'm assuming it's time call you that, since we're now friends)
