AMAZING ghost tour! My favorite activity from visiting Japan! - As a horror fan, I knew this was something I had to book. First off, our tour guide Aron was great - he was a great story teller and a great guide overall. Second off, the stories he told were pretty spooky, but the walk by yourself was even spookier! I don’t want to say too much to give anything away, but I would 110% recommend this if you’re a fan of scary stuff and have time to book it during your time in Kyoto!

Get away from the tourists for a totally unique experience - We're Americans traveling in Japan and wanted to do something unique. Everyone visits temples and eats ramen... but how many people can say they did a GHOST TOUR through a bamboo forest late at night?! The tour company advised not visiting the bamboo forest before the ghost tour, because it's best to experience the forest for the first time during the tour. I agree with that recommendation—wait to visit the forest until during and after the ghost tour. I will say, we accidentally passed through the area surrounding the forest a few hours before the tour. It was filled with tourists, and we were worried that the ghost tour would be surrounded by other people. When we went back to the area for the tour, it turned out that all the tourists were gone, and we had the forest all to ourselves. So cool!! And so spooky. Aaron shared some spooky stories—some (or all?) of which were true crime stories. He also shared some urban legends, spooky stories from Japanese history. Typically, horror movies and haunted houses aren't my thing, but I really enjoyed doing something unique while traveling. And, without giving anything away... there was one part of the tour which was SO SCARY and DEFINITELY worth doing!!

Japanese Spooky Experience! - My wife and I booked this as we always try and do experiences like this when we go on holiday. We were met by Aron promptly at the meeting point who was genuinely lovely and welcoming to us and other members of the tour. We began our walk from the station where we had a drink and he began to talk about Japanese folk-tales and ghost stories as we stopped at points along our route, going into detail about some dark tales. We were led into the darkness Arashiyama bamboo forest where more creepy stories were told. Upon exiting, we were told about real life horror stories from Japan which were all terrifying. Aron made every tour member feel welcomed by speaking with them and including them all which is a sign of a great tour guide...and that was reflected on our amazing experience here!

Great and Spooky Experience - This was the last thing we did on our honeymoon and was the perfect way to round it off. It was incredible to see Arashiyama at night when it was the perfect setting for the chilling ghost stories. Aron is very friendly and made everyone in the group feel included by spending time with all of us. This is the most telling sign of a wonderful guide and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to others.
