An Absolute Must Book Tour in Kyoto! - Russell and I arrived in Kyoto with so little knowledge about Japan’s history and Kyoto…. It was embarrassing. But booking this tour with Hiro was one of the best decisions we have made. He is a sensational tour guide. So well informed, so keen to share his knowledge, interesting and indeed very interested in us and just a great guy. And he has a great sense of humour which is a real plus. Most importantly, we learnt so much about Japan’s history and culture. Throughout the tour, we talked about everything imaginable…. Nothing was left on the table.. If you book just one tour in Kyoto, book this one with Hiro … it is well worth every cent spent. Thank you Hiro - Again! Margot & Russell PS. And we are quite discriminating as we book lots of tours whilst visiting a new country.

Beat the crowds for the best experience with a local - Going early with Hiro was the best idea as we could enjoy Fushimi-Inari Shrine almost for ourselves. Hiro made the transfers between stops super easy, sharing stories about life in Kyoto along the way. Was wonderful to learn about the history of each place from a local, who spoke perfect English. And he also found the best spots to take pictures!

Historical Kyoto, friendly guide - Our guide Vincent was excellent. He helped us figure out the payment system for the railways, busses, transit, etc which was invaluable for our whole stay. We had morning snow during our tour and caught a lot of beautiful pictures. Vincent was super friendly and engaging. He provided an immense amount of interesting information about the history of each location, Shintoism, Buddhism and Japan overall. Afterward he walked us over to a conveyer belt sushi restaurant and we had some of the best sushi of our lives! We wouldn’t have found it without his recommendation. It was a great tour and a great day!

Unforgettable Kyoto Winter Walking Tour with Hiro! - My husband and I, visiting from Detroit, had the absolute pleasure of joining an early morning walking tour, alongside another wonderful couple from LA. From start to finish, our experience was nothing short of magical, thanks to our incredible guide, Hiro. He was not only extremely knowledgeable but also warm, engaging, and truly passionate about sharing Kyoto’s rich history and culture. If you’re on the fence about taking a walking tour in Kyoto during the winter—this is your sign to go for it! We were lucky enough to experience a gentle snowfall throughout our tour, which made the already breathtaking scenery even more enchanting. Walking through the Fushimi Inari Shrine, the serene Bamboo Grove, and the historic Tenryu-ji Temple felt like stepping into a dream. Hiro’s insights brought every location to life, giving us a deeper appreciation of Kyoto’s heritage. He even shared fantastic restaurant recommendations that we wouldn’t have found on our own. We enjoyed delicious Udon, matcha lattes and more! Just a quick tip—bundle up with a hat, gloves, scarf, and a warm coat, and wear comfortable walking shoes, as you’ll be covering a lot of ground. This tour was hands down one of the highlights of our trip, and we can’t recommend it enough. If you have the chance to take a tour with Hiro, don’t hesitate—you won’t regret it!

An easy and fun tour with great guide! - Vincent was an amazing tour guide! So friendly and knowledgeable. Since it was off season, our tour was just my husband and me so a nice “private tour”! The group sizes never get too big so you can ask as many questions as you like and really learn about what you are seeing. Highly recommend this tour.
