Nijo castle is a must visit - Our guide Katsuhikosan, was very knowledgeable, friendly and he spoke good English. Thoroughly enjoyed this walking tour, and to learn about Shogunate history.

Definetly worth it - "Perfect" is the word I would use to describe this experience, and I am not an easy person to please. The guide arrived on time, gave us a lot of information, it allowed us enough time to view and take photos of all the things of interest but managed to keep a pace fast enough as to not get bored. So yes, definetly recommended.

Excellent tour, ask for Jasmine - This tour would have been worth the money at twice the price. Our tour guide, Jasmine, was well informed with excellent English. She made the tour fun and interesting. I would highly recommend booking a tour with Jasmine.

Kyoto Imperial Palace and Nijo Castle tour with Boris - Great tour with Boris. He was incredibly knowledgeable about Japanese imperial and shogun history. We had such a nice time seeing the Kyoto Imperial Palace and Nijo castle. Lots of walking so wear good shoes and drink water. We saw a side of Kyoto we otherwise would not have understood. Could not recommend this tour any higher

Mistakes happen...the system should account for them - Our tour guide was fine and we enjoyed her taking us through the Castle...there were good details to see and learn that made the Shogun ruling period more concrete in my mind. (An audio tour would probably be a fine substitute.) Sadly, our group was split into two cabs to get around the park to the Palace, but ours went first to what was evidently the wrong gate. (Fare was much more expensive than it should have been... another clue there had been miscommunication between guide and cabbie.). Four of us waited without receiving a phone call, and we couldn't find a phone number to call our guide. Eventually we went out separate ways. I received a call of concern from someone at TripGuru around 25 minutes after the tour should have ended, while we were eating. I thought the woman said to send an image of the gate I was at, so they could confirm the mistake and refund us. She texted an email to send the picture to, and I did. Thanks... mistakes happen and we will get some compensation, right? ..afterall, we only toured for 1-1/2 hours...the rest was waiting and walking home. Nope. Last exchange after hearing nothing was with disinterested customer service person would only send me back to Viator because of my booking. The system is not set up to handle mistakes...this is no reflection on the guides who do their best.
