- Arashiyama - Create ethereal and serene portraits among towering bamboo stalks. We can also explore the surrounding area which has many unique photo spots, such as the river and kimono forest.
- Hokan-ji Temple - The pagoda framed by traditional streets offers a quintessential Kyoto shot. Very close to Kiyomizu-dera, at Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka Streets. This is the iconic “Gion” photo spot.
- Gion - Gion is best visited in the spring. A calmer area with many old houses and unique scenery. Best with kimonos.
- Kinkakuji Temple - Reflective pond and golden temple provide a majestic and serene setting for portraits.
- Nijo Castle - Lovely photos can be taken in the castle’s beautiful gardens. Note that the castle itself does not permit any photography inside. Nijo’s surrounding area offers some good hidden photo spots as well, particularly of gardens.
- Heian Shrine - The bright red buildings and lush gardens provide a stately and elegant backdrop for portraits.
- Kitano Tenmangu Shrine - Known for its plum blossoms, this shrine offers vibrant and colorful portrait settings. Highly recommended in early spring.
- Shimogamo Jinja - The forested grounds and rustic bridges provide a tranquil and natural backdrop.
- Pontocho District - This narrow alley along the Kamo River is perfect for atmospheric evening portraits with its lantern-lit charm.
- Maruyama Park - Highly recommended year round. Beautiful park with lanterns, cherry blossoms, and red fall foliage.
- Kyoto Imperial Palace - The expansive gardens and traditional architecture provide a grand setting. Kimonos recommended.
- Kamogawa River - Very beautiful and underrated spot for photos that really come alive. The iconic Kyoto river.
- Yasaka Shrine - Next to Maruyama Park. Very fun shrine with colorful buildings and lanterns.

Kyoto Photo Shoot - We really enjoyed this experience to see Kyoto and get some amazing photos. She asked us what type of photos we wanted and where, and the pictures came out beautifully!! She even gave us a bit of history about Kyoto, which I loved. And we got our photos within a week! Thank you so much for this unique experience and the beautiful photos!!

AMAZING experience!!! 💯 - From the moment we met up with Abigail, she was so easy to talk to :) She is absolutely amazing! Definitely went above and beyond; she accommodated our very last minute same day booking and travelled to our location, listened to our many requests, had great suggestions, helped us with poses that looked natural/fun/happy vibes. Also, love her edits! We got all our photos within 2 days! 💯Highly recommended!!! If i could give 6 stars, I would! Thanks Abigail! 😊

Money Well Spent!! - I booked this experience at the last minute and have zero regrets. Abigail was so amazing!!! I saw my pictures and gasped. She was so professional yet made me feel very comfortable. She took my ideas and was willing to try them. Whenever I needed my coat and bag held, she volunteered to help do that as well throughout the shoot. I honestly could not have asked for a better photographer to document my time in Kyoto. I am so thankful for the results of the pictures. I love them so much and it was money well spent!!!! Thank you, thank you, Abigail!!!!

Highly recommend Abigail and PiQtour! - Our experience with Abigail was wonderful. She took us to several spots that we would not have explored on our own and was such a sweet person. The photos she took for us came out beautiful; I couldn’t have asked for better shots. I highly recommend booking a session with her to commentate your Japan experience!

Such an amazing experience! - I wanted to do a photoshoot in Kyoto in kimono with my now fiancé. He coordinated with Abigail and informed her the photos would be for our engagement. (Unknown to me at the time as he proposed a couple weeks prior) I couldn't be happier with the photos we recieved.
Abigail was amazing and super fun. I'm glad we had the opportunity to have this experience with her. She led us around to different spots and made sure to get a variety of poses and was really dedicated. Her energy was great and I felt at ease with her within the first 10 minutes.
Thank you for taking the time to make our day even more special! Would definitely book back again.

Beautiful anniversary photos, lovely photographer. - My husband and I don’t normally do these kinds of things but it was our anniversary so we decided, what the heck, let’s rent kimonos and get some photos. It was our first time in Japan so we wanted something to commemorate the trip.
Our photographer, Abigail, was so sweet and helpful. I don’t know the first thing about taking a good picture and she was kind enough to help position my husband and I for the best shots.
We took most of our photos at Fushimi Shrine (I LOVE the red of the tori gates) and though I was worried about the crowds, they were no problem at all with Abigail’s assistance. She even told us a bit about the shrine! It was a really fun photoshoot.
If you want to get some beautiful photos made for your family or a special occasion, I can’t recommend Abigail enough 😁
