- Laque, Shijokarasuma - This is where we start our tour - right where two of Kyoto’s biggest streets meet: Shijo-dori and Karasuma-dori. There are a lot of shopping malls like this one as well as cafes and delicious ramen restaurants here to explore to your heart’s content.

- Shijo Dori - Along Shijo-dori we will sit down at one of its many coffee shops to brief you on our plan for the tour, the ramen we’ll be eating and Kyoto’s ramen history in general.
- Nishiki Market Shopping District - Together with the guide you will explore the area around Nishiki market where you can find surprisingly many high quality ramen shops. Although the market won’t be a part of the tour, we will pass through there and give you some recommendations to come back to later (if you’re not full yet!)

You’ll visit two ramen shops for two wildly different bowls of ramen. One bowl will represent classic Kyoto ramen and the other, more modern ramen. Each bowl is smaller than normal (about 1/2 the size of a full bowl). At the beginning of the tour, you’ll sit down with the guide to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. Alongside this, you’ll discuss Kyoto ramen origins and the ramen route on the tour - the shops you’ll be visiting!

Great guide and amazing ramen - So glad I did this tour!! Amazing selection of ramen and really could not have found these places myself. The guide was great company too, especially as a solo traveler.

Stunning experience, amazing broth! - We had an amazing time on the Kyoto Ramen Tour with Nick! The *Tori Paitan* ramen was creamy and delicious, and the soy sauce ramen at the next restaurant was equally impressive. Nick’s energy, flexibility, and deep knowledge of Kyoto and ramen culture made the experience unforgettable. Highly recommend this tour for all who visit Kyoto!

Great tour experience with Nick - The tour was a great experience! It started off with a drink at a cafe while our host Nick taught us about the history of ramen. Then he brought us on a tour around the city and we visited 2 ramen restaurants. The first was a delicious Tori paitan ramen at a cozy shop where they cooked in front of us. The next was a cute ramen shop with the most delicious shout I had before. It was all very delicious! Nick was an excellent host. He made us feel comfortable, got to know our tastes, was very friendly and made great recommendations. His guidance helped enhance our experience of the food. Would definitely recommend the experience!

Delicious ramen tour - Our amazing tour guide Nick recommended this ramen , and he has great taste! The Toripaitan ramen was rich and creamy, with a broth that felt like comfort in a bowl. The Syouyu ramen had a beautifully balanced soy sauce flavor that was light yet satisfying. Thanks to Nick, we discovered a fantastic place we’ll definitely return to!"Especially Syouyu ramen is Michelin-level quality,A must-visit for ramen lovers!"

The best ramen tour - They gave me the best ramen experience! Nick, the guide of our tour also explained some information about ramen which I wanted to know. We chose the ramen restaurants for ourselves and both of them were perfect.
At the first restaurant, I ate Tsukemen and it was so tasty. I absolutely enjoyed the atmosphere of restaurant.
I also ate Shoyu ramen at the second restaurant. It was thick and I really satisfied with the ramen.
Thank you for giving me a great exprience with ramen.

Make sure to come hungry! - Nick was a great guide. I was able to visit hidden restaurants that I didn't know about even though I've lived in Kyoto for a year. I could enjoy various types of ramens such as toripaitan and tsukemen. If you are interested in Ramen, I strongly recommend this tour. It was such a nice experience. Also make sure to come hungry!

Enjoy Ramen while learning their origins and evolution - Kyoto Ramen Tour is the best opportunity to enjoy the ramen while getting to know the long history behind these delicious bowls of noodles. You wouldn’t believe there are countless combinations of ingredients. I really enjoyed the conversations I had with our guide, Nick, who enthusiastically explained about different types of Ramen noodles available throughout Japan.

Deeper insights of ramen shops in Kyoto rather than famous chain stores - This tour not just adds up unexpected ramen knowledge but also helps unlearn some of my wrong basic knowledge of ramen, which are quite common for foreigners even after living two years in Kyoto. Highlight is the patience of our guide, Nick, who explains and answers all the questions very well in a patient and calm manner. There's nothing to complain about the choice of ramen shop in the tour that Nick chose the recommendation place by adapting our preference. The only unfortunate thing is I can not finish two bowls of ramen, though I wanted to. It's better not to clean up the first bowl unless you are the real big eater, just as Nick suggested, but I didn't listen and end up regretting it.

Very recommendable!! - I went on a ramen tour in Kyoto. It was a very good experience! First we got introduced to ramen with an interactive quiz and it was possible to ask a lot of questions. It was very interesting to learn more about ramen and its origins. Then we had to choose the ramen place. There was a lot of places to choose between and it was kind of hard to choose, but the guide helped us to choose. We end up going to two places. Both were very nice and aesthetics places. And the ramen both places was so good! The other people in the group were very nice and kind as well. The vibe was very good and relax. Definitely recommendable!! Thank you very much!

Great experience and knowledge of local ramen spots - This tour was really interesting as it combined both ramen history as well as ramen tasting. There were multiple choices of ramen restaurants to try with a wide variety of styles. Nick was a perfect guide!
