Immersion into aged Japanese tradition - The whole process was a fascinating experience starting with the location next to a Zen monastery where tea ceremony was developed. Fact that it takes pretty much all life to become a senior tea master is mind boggling. Kimono wearing and historical facts explaining small details create unique atmosphere. I think it’s a must when going to Kyoto.

Highlight of Kyoto - We thoroughly enjoyed this experience. It was interesting to be dressed in kimonos for the tea ceremony. The tea master was very kind and the translator was excellent. It was fun to try our hand at making the tea ourselves.

Must do in Kyoto - Great experience from start to finish. The tea master is the sweetest lady. You can choose your own kimono. Important to note: wear appropriate undergarments. Such an educational experience learning about the tea ceremony. Would definitely recommend.
