Great experience....You should try this. - A wonderful experience cooking vegan foods that were so tasty. Our host gave us great recipes and explained so much about the ingredients, some of which we hadn't tried before...lotus root was one. And the best part was we got to eat everything...yum....Thanks so much for a great Japanese experience.

Fun and took away some ideas for home - Yakuri invited us to her home to show us some simple but delicious dishes. Even if you are not vegan or vegetarian you get some new ideas of vegan alternatives you can implement in your day-to-day life. Especially after eating fish an meat most of the time in Japan that was a more than welcome alternative!

A wonderful cooking experience! - Yukari was a great and very warm host. She picked us up at a supermarket. We were in class with a second couple. It was a very pleasant cooking experience, we were allowed to cut and prepare many things ourselves. Yukari explained all the ingredients and described and showed the individual steps well. The food was delicious and the atmosphere very warm and cordial. We had a lot of fun and learned a lot.

Amazing experience - The class was amazing! Yukari was very welcoming and gave us great explanations about the history of the cuisine. She was very paciente and explained the recipes in details and shared it with us in writing to be able to do them at home, which we did when we got back. Everything was delicious and she even helped us with the plating for it to look really good. Would highly recommend to anybody interested in cuisine, culture or vegan food.

Top cooking course - My friend and I have attended four cooking courses whilst we have been in Japan and this was definitely the best one. Yukari has a very extensive knowledge of Japanese food from working with it for many years. She helped us prepare a really fascinating and super tasty Buddhist meal which was very cleverly constructed.

Authentic home cooking - This was a terrific experience. Yukari was a great host and a wonderful teacher. she has written books and articles on various aspects of Japanese food and is very knowledgeable. We learned a lot about aspects of Japanese and specifically Shojin cuisine. In addition, it was one of the tastiest meals that I’ve prepared. I would highly recommend this when you visit Kyoto.
