Great Tour! - Great time with Sho. Would highly recommend this tour for a fun evening with an insight into Kyoto’s history. We happened to see 3 Maikos and 1 Geisha as well!

Great intro to old Kyoto - Our guide was the nicest and friendliest guy you could ask for that knew the history of Kyoto and the Geisha culture. Made the hour and half fun!

If you need a freshman night tour for Kyoto, take Sho! - Sho is a great guide. He is patient and well-prepared for the tour. He answered everyone’s questions and showed us “secret paths” that are not touristy at all. He also gave great travel tips if you ask. I’d strongly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kyoto for the first time!

Dusk Gion District Walking Tour - My son and I are visiting Japan and Kyoto for the first time. We recently took the Gion District night Walking Tour with our guide, Sho, who is a native of Kyoto. Sho has excellent knowledge of the history and and architecture of Kyoto. We had the 6:45 PM tour and it was a lovely time of night to see the district. We also liked the size of the group which was only seven people and it was all very personable. If you are visiting Kyoto, I recommend this tour.

Goon at night - Sho was a charming young tour guide with excellent English who was very knowledgeable about the Gion District. Touring at night allowed us to avoid the crowds and the heat. We covered much more of the district than you could during the day. Also, nighttime photography of this area is amazing. I highly recommend this tour.

A relaxing night stroll on less Kyoto crowded streets - I booked the tour for the family to get to know Kyoto a little bit up close from a local, also to help get over the jet lag. We considered both were accomplished for us by the end 👍 Sho-San is very friendly with very good English communication skill. We had a family with 2 little kids in the group - Sho-San was very nice to them. We didn’t run into a maiko or geisha on the night we went, but the information he shared was quite interesting. We also walked through a quiet residence area with Japanese tradition written all over. He took us to a perfect spot to view the Yasaka Shrine at night. Many processional photographers were there with their sophisticated gears set up - it was quite cool. If you are looking for a low stress casual night walk in Kyoto with a local at a reasonable cost, then I recommend Sho-San. My family enjoyed it; so will you.

Recommend evening Gion tour with Sho - Enjoyable evening walk through Gion district with very knowledgeable guide, Sho. Small group of 5 allowed us to access other areas. Explained the different shrines, statues, geisha, customs and their meanings. Way less tourists at night. Well priced. Thanks Sho! 😊

Great walk - Sho was nice and the price was low, so it’s tough to complain. His knowledge wasn’t very deep, so it’s more of a nice walk to introduce you to the highlights of Gion, which isn’t a bad thing. Don’t expect much info about history and be prepared to use google for the questions he can’t answer. The small size of the tour was great.
