Great family activity - Very nice experience and activity for the family! We loved it and learned about the Samurai History. We did the Ninja experience only, because our daughter is younger than the allowed age, but I would have done both otherwise.

Highly recommend! - Amazing experience at the Samurai and Ninja museum. Kanata was a fantastic tour guide, so knowledgeable and energetic! And we got to take pictures in Samurai outfits and throw shurikens!

Great fun - Great fun. This was a 1 hour ninja experience followed by a tour of their museum which is located in another building. I think this was the perfect amount of time to learn the history of ninjas along with their tools. It was great fun trying to throw ninja stars and blow pipe. Our guide Kiryu was good fun Would recommend this tour

Really fun couple of hours - Really fun couple of hours. The guide was great, and it was fun to try on the armour and participate in a ninja star throwing competition.

Unexpected delight. - This was an unexpected delight. It is not a museum that you self guide through, you arrive and book a ticket and come back at your nominated time for a guided tour with knowledge shared by your guide on the history of samurai and ninjas. The tour guide was EXCELLENT. I cannot express enough how much we loved this experience. Great to learn some history and just the right enough of talking and humour to keep you and any children engaged. Well worth it if you have an hour to spare wondering the streets of Kyoto. At the end you can practice throwing ninja stars!

Not a turtle in sight! - For those who do not know much about Japanese culture and the warrior castes, this is a very good introduction. It's accessible, informative and fun.

Not a real museum and not worth the money - It is a private venture. Don’t know if you can call it a museum. They have some costumes and swords of samurai’s / don’t know if they are real. The explanation is in good English but takes only about 30 min! Then you have a shurikan competition. It was cute but not worth the money. You are in and out in 45 min.

Wish we skipped it.... - Family went out of our way for this activity and found it very disappointing.....it was not an hour but barely 35 minutes. Guide??? We never saw one. No sword demo and the complete ninja costume, was only a jacket and head band. Darting blowing portion was using shooters from a basket that was used over and over by God knows who...no attempt to clean them between groups. Cannot recommend this for anyone.

Rip off experience at this Samurai/Ninja Museum in a busy shopping mall. - This "museum" is a rip-off for YEN3300. There are 3-4 small rooms that are decorated with pictures of samurai and emblems with little to no accurate historical evidence or facts about the era. It is advertised as a guided tour of the samurai ninja museum Kyoto with experience which is very misleading. First of all it is not a museum as it does not house true artifacts of the era but contains a series of boards with pictures. The very small rooms are inadequate to house the 30 people this operator tries to scam. The presenter Nobu was an amateur entertainer presenting a poor comedy skit and I doubt had little to zero knowledge. He requested that no questions be asked until after the performance. When he was asked "how did the ninjas' train and become skilled?' he avoided answering the question stating that he had run out of time despite the session ending 10 minutes earlier than promised. You get to throw some plastic stars at a polystyrene wall and the winner gets to keep the plastic star. The dress up was at another location which was 10 minute walk and the clothes were smelly and the overall experience sub standard. We went to Nijo castle by bus and learnt more about the Samurai era here for just 1200YEN admission fee.
