Great experience with Matsu - Matsu was an amazing guide who spoke great English and was so helpful, answering all of our questions. Having the car was very efficient and a huge boon in the heart of the Summer as it was extremely hot. We initially thought we might not need the full 6 hours, but we ended up using all of our time.

Well worth the money! - It is so hot here in August so the private AC Van was excellent! With 5 people and all the different places we wanted to go it just made sense! Yanagi, our driver was excellent on explaining the sites, showing us where to go and even finding us an excellent Raman place for lunch! Definitely recommend!

Kyoto with Harry - Harry very pleasant and attentive to our needs. Arrived on time. Took us to all highlights. Gave adequate time at each location.

Maximize your day in Kyoto - Great driver, very helpful in make the best use of a day in Kyoto. We had a great time and didn’t have to worry about getting to the next shrine or temple. Driver went above normal service in helping us retrieve a small bag we left on the van at the end of the day. This is not a tour, but a van that drives you around in Kyoto to the main attractions.

Matsu - Matsu is excellent and very understanding. He speaks good English and ensure the trip was well worth it .

The sights of Kyoto - The sights were spectacular and our tour guide was fantastic - a big thank you to Mex for his wealth of knowledge and sharing this freely with us. We learnt so much about Japanese history and visited some truly breathtaking sights. What an amazing day, we highly recommend this tour!

Saw all the highlights of the area in 1 day. - Kyoto is beautiful with so much to see! We only had one day and we were able to see several shrines/temples and other beautiful sites there. Unfortunately our driver’s English was not great and she wasn’t able to answer questions we had along the way but she was very polite and sweet. We just expected and wished we had someone who could communicate with us better and had a little bit more knowledge about what we were seeing.

Disaster! Driver was inept at driving the van, did not know how to use GPS properly, and could not speak English!Engli - We booked an "English Speaking driver" for the day. The tour promised we could create our own itinerary and have the driver take us from sight to sight. Our driver could not speak English (and I speak Japanese, and even with that I could hardly communicate), she did not know how to input information into her GPS -- for example she would put the train station name instead fo the name of the temple we were going to, resulting in 15-20 min of extra driving time when we reached the destination. She also was clearly uncomfortable driving the large 5-person van. She almost hit two cars in parking lots and was apprehensive about making turns down smaller streets and looked anxious the entire time. She could not speak while driving, for example, as it was too stressful. Our family wasted untold amounts of time while she got lost on streets in Kyoto. She circled our Hilton Garden Inn hotel three times before we finally had her just drop us off curbside. Even then, she parked too close to the curb and hit the door on the the curb when she tried to open it, leaving everyone trapped inside until we could figure out how to relay to her what was wrong. We were also told that a desination 115 min away was "out of the zone"-- this after going to temples and shrines more than 30 min away. The problem is that our driver was not able to safely drive the car, and not practiced with using the navigation system and -- to top it all off-- did not speak English! She kept mixing up "left" and "right", which for a driver, is pretty dangerous. I spent an hour on the phone with Viator in the U.S. The company she worked for refused to call me and would only text because "there was too much noise where they were to call"? My guess is they do not speak English either and are using translators to text. I took time to call the U.S. branch as I truly believe the driver we had is a liability. It is DANGEROUS. It has been over two weeks now. Nobody has gotten back to me about the two page email I wrote or my concerns, so I will now be calling my credit card company to dispute the charge. I have had many other excellent Viator tours -- one the day earlier with a great guide for a walking tour. This driving tour, though, horrible and dangerous!
