Top Flight Guide in Kyoto - Akira was an absolutely top notch guide. He managed to get us everywhere despite my wife's mobility issues, and even obtained a wheelchair for her at the Golden Pavilion and the Shogun's castle. The sights were all extraordinary, particularly the Buddhist site with which we started the day. Also, he was very easy to communicate with. Our driver too was friendly and very considerate.

Kyoto tour - Masaki was a fantastic tour guide. Highly organised beforehand and allowed us to customise our trip. We got to see so much more than if we tried to do it on our own and the historical context provided made the experience much richer for our kids.

Recommended way to see Kyoto - My spouse and I visited Kyoto in early September as part of a larger three week Japan trip. We had a friend recommend using a tour guide with a car as the best way to see Kyoto so we found the Japan Guide Agency through the internet. We had the pleasure of having Ken Y. as our tour guide and Osamu K. as our driver. Prior to our arrival in Kyoto, Ken reached out to us via email to ask us about our priorities for the tour. He provided some recommendations and worked up an itinerary for the day based on our feedback. The day of the tour he met us at our hotel and provided a detailed list of our itinerary and even created a nice history guide for us based on what we were going to see to help put the historic sites into the larger context of Japan. Both Ken and Osamu were extremely professional and friendly, taking the time to get to know us and pointing out various facts and stories along the way. We visited many of the popular shrines, had a delicious vegetarian lunch at Tenryu-ji which Ken helped us with making the reservation. We were very glad to have booked this tour on our first day in Kyoto. During our visit, Japan was experiencing a bit of a heat wave so we were thankful to have the air conditioned car breaks between locations and the car helped get us to sites across Kyoto that would have taken multiple transfers with extra travel time. Thank you Ken for guiding us through Kyoto with the high heat and humidity. Thank you Osamu for getting us from place to place safely and with air conditioning. Highly recommend this service.

Kyoto and Ken San are Awesome. - Ken was extremely knowledgeable and a great guide to tour with. We had a lot of fun and we covered quite a few locations. He was well prepared and gave us a great overview of Japanese history and key events. We also loved his jokes.

Just what we’d hoped for. - We came to Osaka on a cruise ship. Yuka was our guide. She was great at communicating with us before the tour. Yuka was early and patient for us. She is a lifelong resident of Osaka and a a fantastic ambassador for Osaka and Japan. We were taken by subway to Osaka castle where Yuka guided us past the lines and inside. She was very knowledgeable with the history of the area and castle. In to the Dotonbori area. Yuka showed us around like a pro. We told her we were looking for a few different items and she hunted tirelessly for us. Always so happy and helpful. I wish we had more time to do more tours with her. May the force be with you Yuka. 😂
