- Craft Gallery SALUK - This is an experience to make a pewter sake cup with a pewtersmith. The sake cup you create can be taken home in a paulownia wood box. First, the pewter material we have prepared for you is hammered with a hammer of your choice to make a pattern on it. You can also choose to have your name or anniversary date engraved in alphabetical or numerical characters if you like. After the pattern has been hammered on, the height of the cup is adjusted using a file, the rim is shaved to make it easier to drink, and it is then sanded and prepared using sandpaper and a spatula. The final polishing process is done by a pewtersmith for safety reasons, since a machine is used. The pewtersmith will also show you the workshop if you like at that time. The cups we create are approximately 64 mm in diameter x 53 mm in height and have a capacity of 90 ml, or 115 ml when filled to the brim. Pouring sake, whiskey, or cold green tea is recommended.
