Nice tea ceremony - The ceremony was enlightening to show us the traditions and methods of making green tea. I liked the small group but wished it was a bit longer.

No more tea bags needed for me! - Relaxed and informative demonstration, with an English translation. Easy to find using the local bus from the train

Absolute Gem of an Experience - What a wonderful experience!! The host and interpreter were so warm and friendly. There was also so much history involved that I felt was critical. Further to this, they taught us the proper way for making the tea. I felt so relaxed and enlightened afterwards. Thank you so much for a fantastic afternoon!!!!

My fiance and I wanted to... - My fiance and I wanted to see and understand what went into the traditional Japanese tea ceremony. It was an enlightening experience where we were able to partake in some of the prepared morsels and matcha tea that we were able to make ourselves

A wonderful experience - The traditional tea ceremony was a neat experience. It was a great opportunity to get an understanding of a part of the Japanese culture that isn’t mainstream as it once was. The women were so kind and welcoming.

Amazing experience - I loved the experience from start to finish, both the tea master and her translator were very sweet, warm and welcoming. I travelled with my young daughter who loves Japanese culture and who was very happy with the experience too. One thing I will say to people thinking about booking this experience, it is quite ‘out of the way’. I would not let this deter you because the experience is amazing, but I would recommend taking the subway to the nearest station (maps will be more than good enough to get you there) and getting a taxi / Uber from the station (it’s cheap from there, about 1,000Y which works out at about £5 GBP).

Immersed in a highly ritualized Japan ... - Interesting but I would have added a little contemporary context that we still lack to grasp everything of this ritual (how it is transmitted, how one becomes master , is it still bcp practiced, how it is practiced by the monks and with what meaning, etc.)
