Crocodiles and baby sea turtles up close! - Our guide Abel did a great job giving us the tour in English. La ventanilla is an amazing place. There is a short walk into the lagoon where you board the canoe. There are many crocodiles...and they got really close! We also got to see many bird species, deers and horses as well. They do a great job keeping this lagoon special There are a few vendor markets along the way selling small souvenirs, mezcal It should be noted that the entrance for la escobilla is 200mxn for adults and 100 mxn for children (not included in tour fee as advised) We then drove to La escobilla for the turtle release. We stop by the small base, where there are washrooms and where you pay your admission. It's is 200mxn per person (adult and children) Then you drive down a dirt path closer to the beach area where the locals will show you how they protect and hatch the sea turtles There are MANY large vultures hanging around waiting for these eggs to hatch What a sight! You will get 5 sea turtles each, given in a small basin and walk down the beach to release them. Theh are absoluately adorable!! The waves are big, so they do caution you not to cross a certain line. The sunset is beautiful and breathtaking The drive home was dark, and quiet. It is a full day tour as it does take around 1 hrs 45 there and 1 hrs 45 back. On the way there, Abel did quick drive by and told us the importance of many spots like zipolte and pochutla along the way. There was a full cooler of drinks like water, pop, and Coronas. There is no food included in this tour so do have a full lunch before starting or bring a snack if you need. Would 100% recommend this tour
