Great day out - After the travel agency messed us around, the guys at Desafio made up for it with a friendly, fun and professional adventure! Aaron was our group guide on the water and we felt very safe with him the entire time.

Fantastic Excursion!!! - We picked this trip because it was in the afternoon ,and with our 19 and 22 year old sons, we don't like to be in a rush in the morning. However, it turned out to be a totally awesome experience! Gabriel (like the angel ,although a very mischievous one) made it even more fun! We had exciting rapids(sons were impressed too) We stopped mid way to swim, do some cliff jumping if you wanted to, and enjoyed delicious watermelon and pineapples. Our girl leader was nice, and helped Gabriel find wildlife up ahead. There was someone taking pictures the whole way through, which was well worth the affordable price. At the end, we changed clothes and enjoyed a delicious Costa Rican lunch( and I don't typically like Costa Rican food) at a cool looking picnic area with music playing in the background. It was one of our favorite days in Costa Rica!!!!

Rafting the Sarapiqui with Desafio and Osvaldo - We had a great rafting experience on the Sarapiqui River with Desafio Adventures. We met our guides at the Hunter Gatherer restaurant, before heading out to the river. As luck would have it, we were the only people signed up for rafting that day. We came down the river with Osvaldo, our guide. Esteban was our kayak guide on the trip, he did a great job leading the way. Osvaldo pointed out birds and other wildlife along the way, and told us about the river and it’s history. Midway through our trip, we stopped for a swim, and lots of fresh pineapple, watermelon, and cantaloupe. After we finished, we showered and changed into dry clothes, before enjoying a tasty lunch at the Desafio basecamp. The trip photographer, Victor (aka Paparazzi) showed us pictures from our trip. After lunch, our driver, also named Esteban, took us back to our vehicle at the restaurant, dodging several big iguanas in the road on the way. It was a clear afternoon, and Esteban stopped the van so that we could get shots of Arenal, looming in the distance. This was our second rafting trip with Desafio, and we had a great experience both times. Thank you Osvaldo, the Esteban’s, Victor and everyone at Desafio…Pura Vida!

Must do - Our rafting trip was most excellent. Osvaldo was a splendid guide combining humor, friendliness and great skill in the water. His capacity as a rafting guide allowed him to push us to the appropriate limit of our abilities as beginners. We saw plenty of birds and some wildlife along the shores of the sarapiqui. The casada lunch that we had at the end of the trip was fresh and delicious. This was my favorite experience in Costa Rica.

Awesome Excursion! - Walter and Braulio made this rafting trip so much fun for me, my husband my kids. The rapids were a lot of fun and they pointed out lots of beautiful birds and wildlife! We were even able to jump into the river and given a yummy snack and lunch. It was the most memorable and fun excursion of our trip to Costa Rica. Thanks so much Walter and Braulio! Pura Vida!!

White water rafting - We had the best time white water rafting!
We had a GREAT guide- Hansell. He was funny and made sure we had a great time!
The rapids were fun but nothing that is scary or you felt unsafe! We stopped half way through and got to jump off a side cliff into the water. The guides gave us a snack of fresh pineapple and we were off to finish the rest of the rafting adventure!
Highly recommend you do it!
We had lunch afterwards and it was delicious! It was rice, chicken, fruit, veggies, salad and a drink!

Relaxing float trip. Exceptional Driver. - Class 2/3 nature float trip. Miti was our guide. He did a great job of pointing out wildlife in fauna along the way. Relaxing float. As expected. Not an adventure trip. Post float meal was good as well. We were with Wilson our driver for many hours that day. Wilson was very attentive, helpful and an overall great guy. He coached me in Spanish for hours. I would be happy to have him drive us around again on this trip or a future one.

Terrifying rafting experience - The gravity repel and canyoning was great however the rafting was a disaster. The guide on our boat (Sarah) was totally incompetent. From the start she had a terrible attitude and talked to us all very disrespectfully. Then she proceeded to get stuck on several large rocks plus capsizing the boat requiring the help of several other guides. I was hit by the boat when it was being recovered and went flying down the rapids sustaining several injuries. Other members of the boat were also injured. She paid no notice to this afterwards and proceeded to blame us when she was crashing into several other rocks. Terrible experience which is a shame as the other boats with other guides seemed to be having fun.
