A wild ride with a great driver! - Excellent tour with amazing tour guides! A wild ride on the Rio Balsa and so much fun! Jose Oliverares was our driver for the entire day and had great energy for the long day and long drive after rafting and lunch to Manuel Antonio (5 hours). His cooler of cold drinks and upbeat attitude was very pleasant. He informed us about places we passed with a smile on his face and confident singing voice!

Pura Vida! Don't forget to sunscreen - This was our first time white water rafting, and it was exhilarating! We did the Class 2-3 rafting + transfer from Arenal to Manuel Antonio. The guides were very meticulous in balancing the people in the boats, and made sure everyone had a safe but fun ride. Our guide (Georgio?) made us feel safe the whole time, remaining calm and giving clear instructions while we paddled furiously in the rapids. The team also made sure to point out interesting wildlife as well as information about the area. It was a long day between shuttles and on the water, but our driver Jose Olivares was amazing. We made several quick stops for food, photo-ops, and bathroom breaks on the way to our hotel in Manuel Antonio. He was a great driver, very friendly, and professional.

Guide Momo is the best! - An amazing time for the whole family! Our rafting guide Momo, was simply the best! He kept us safe, was very entertaining, and allowed us to experience all the adventure and beauty that the Costa Rica rainforest has to offer. The Sarapiquí river is gorgeous!

Our favorite experience in Costa Rica with our favorite guide MOMO - Everyone in our group agreed that this was our favorite expedition during our 7-day Costa Rica trip. Namely because Momo was the best guide we’ve ever met- hilarious, high energy, and skilled/experienced. He heard one of the couples hadn’t spotted a sloth yet, so Momo pointed out TWO sloths in the trees along the river. We were able to view them without a lens (something we couldn’t even do on the dedicated sloth tour). On top of being incredibly funny and personable, Momo was really skilled in keeping the group coordinated. The whole process was well organized - instructions are provided on the drive over and reviewed in the raft before taking off. Halfway down the river, you’ll pull over to the side for a quick break and the guides prepare fruit, so you stay hydrated. Highly recommend.

Best tour of our trip! - Had an incredible experience rafting in La Fortuna. We were lucky enough to have Momo as our guide who made the experience so enjoyable. Momo was more adventurous than the other guides (without it being too much) and gave us a really fun ride. He also has eagle eyes as he was the best at spotting wildlife during rafting; he somehow spotted a 2-toed and 3-toed sloth in the trees along the riverbank along with lots of other animals. I have been rafting before and this experience was mich better because of Momo. This was the best tour of our Costa Rica trip and I highly recommend this tour!

Family from Las Vegas - This white water rafting tour was excellent. Our guide Julio was the absolute best. He was so informative and loved being out on the river with us. He even rescued my hubby that took a spill in the river! The scenery was gorgeous, the rapids were perfect for our family...not too intense, but wild enough to fulfill my teenager's adventurous spirit. We stopped along the way to have delicious fresh fruit and met a random cow that was waiting for our fruit scraps! I highly recommend this company and this adventure.

Fun way to travel - This is a great way to break up the travel from Arenal to Manuel Antonio. The trip overall is long (about 5-7 hours), but being able to get out and river raft followed by lunch really breaks up the travel a bit. Our guide, Gustavo, was fun and engaging. And our driver was safe on the winding roads. Overall, it was a wonderful way to enjoy the Balsa river rapids and not lose a day to travel!!!

White water rafting - What a fun day! This was the first time our kids, ages 11 and 13, went white water rafting and it was such a great activity. They were nervous at first, never having gone and were laughing and loving it within minutes. The rapids were level 2/3. Level 2 is pretty much flat smooth water and level 3 has fun rapids but nothing too strenuous. No real drops of any kind. The kids had an absolute blast and our guide Momo was the best! He knew how to navigate the rocks and rapids well. He kept the entire rafting trip super fun and engaging. We spotted sloths and beautiful birds. There were times we jumped in the river when it was flat and just floated for a few minutes. The water was cool and refreshing (nothing like the water in Colorado the last time I went rafting). The photographer was excellent, even with my two children in the back we got several great pictures. They had delicious fresh fruit for us at a stopping point during the rafting. And a beer or juice waiting when we were done. We then dried off and took a short drive to lunch. The lunch afterward was fabulous, maybe my favorite meal of the trip so far! Very authentic and delicious. The Costa Rican picadillo is delicious! I highly recommend this activity.

Amazing trip Thanks Alonso - We had an AMAZING time hanging out on the river with Alonso. We got to see three sloths and countless iguanas. Neither of our kids (13/16) had rafted before but they both felt safe the entire time! You couldn’t keep the smiles off everyone’s faces. We knew the day was going to be long regardless so adding this trip was a very memorable one to break up the day a little. 10 out of 10 recommend! The photo package captured all the smiles!

Amazing half day out!!! - I did this with my two children aged 13 and 11. I wasn’t sure if my youngest would be able to do it but he’s a very courageous boy and was the most up for it out of all of us. We had a lovely guide called Kurby and it was his birthday so we all sang him happy birthday. The rafting was thrilling but also super fun. Half way through the rapids stopped and we stopped for a swim. It was like a lazy river being slowly pulled downstream. With half an hour to go we stopped for a fruit break where everyone was given fresh watermelon and pineapple. It was so delicious and refreshing. It wasn’t too difficult as long as you listened to the guides when they would shout instructions for you to do. With a bit of teamwork we were alright and none of us fell in. It wasn’t extremely physically challenging but you do have to be up for a bit of work. Overall, we had a super amazing time. Of all the excursions we have done in costa rica this was my kid’s favourite. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all of us.
