Best thing to do in La Fortuna - We had the most amazing time on this tour! Our guides Briferson & Darío were so much fun and really made our experience. The waterfalls were so beautiful and rappelling was a great new way of seeing them. We also got to hang upside down on the zip line which was maybe the coolest thing we’ve ever done. The Costa Rican dinner was also perfect and our driver was so kind. I would 100% recommend this to anyone in La Fortuna.

An unforgettable experience - One our favourite experiences in Costa Rica by far was our rappelling and rafting adventure with Maquique Adventure. It stretched us out of our comfort zone in the best way, and we had an absolute blast. The teams were really fun and professional, and helped us feel totally safe... which is saying a lot with such an adventure. And it's amazing to have photos and videos of the whole thing. Also, the meal we had afterward was delicious. A huge, heartfelt thank you to Dario, David, Keneth, Greivin, Carlos, Mario, Fran and Jairo. You gave us an unforgettable experience. It was beautiful and thrilling. The guides - Briferdson & Dario - were very personable and encouraging. They gave some great information about nature in Costa Rica and just had a good time with us! They also took several videos and pictures free of charge that they sent to us. This tour feels off the beaten path and not so commercialized. I loved the authenticity of it!

Had the time of our lives!!! - The Maquique Adventure canyoning experience was THE highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. If you are considering this activity— do it! The guides are extremely caring and skilled (thank you Chino and Kenneth!). You will feel safe. I did this with my 11 year old son and we both had a blast. You will feel like you got dropped in the middle of a National Geographic shoot the scenery is unbelievably gorgeous! Since it was low season, it was only myself and my son, which was wonderful. I am sure they would make the experience just as magical with a bigger group as well. You will be immersed in waterfalls and hiking through rivers, so be prepared with waterproof hiking shoes. I also recommend wearing a top that covers your waist (so the harness doesn’t chafe your skin) and that you can comfortably get wet. There are free lockers you can use to stow your things — no need to bring anything with you on the actual excursion. You can also shower and change into dry clothes before lunch (bring an extra pair of shoes as well). Our guides took priceless photos for us and emailed them to me for no extra fee. Truly amazing service. The lunch spot at the end was also delicious! A traditional Costa Rican meal with tender chicken or beef. 10/10 would highly recommend this activity and can’t wait to do it again!

Exhilarating experience - We did several activities in la Fortuna and this was one of our top favorite, a 10/10. Some of the rappelling took place around waterfalls which made the experience even more exciting. Staff was super friendly and nice and made us feel safe. They were patient and encouraging with me as I was a bit scared of heights. Thank you Maquique Adventures!

Super Adventure - I can’t stress enough how fun and adventurous this tour is. It was our first time rapelling so we did not really know what to expect. But Kenneth and all the guides were extremely helpful, safety conscious, and just so much fun. The actual rapelling was really not difficult, but some of these falls were HIGH, which made them so much fun. Hiking through the beautiful river and rainforest was an extra bonus. We even saw a sloth high in the trees at the start of the tour, as well as many leaf cutter ants, one bullet ant, and toucans (on the drive out of the property). You do work up an appetite, but theres a delicious homemade meal waiting for you at the end. If you’re thinking of doing this, don’t hesitate…do it! It has been one of the highlights of our trip so far.

Best Canyoning in La Fortuna! - We have done many trips and adventures during our holiday in Costa Rica and this was by far our favorite activity. What made it great was our the guides, they were knowledgable, friendly and patient with everyone in our group. We never felt rushed. The experience was 10/10, the views, the excitement and thrills. They guides also took photos of us with their own phones and then emailed them over free of charge! I have no hesitation in recommending this company! Enjoy the thrills!

Truly exhilarating, yet fun and safe for the family! - This was an exhilarating experience for my family. The staff made everyone feel safe, yet made sure it was a fun and light-hearted experience that we will never forget! None of us had rappelling experience, yet each of us was able to complete the entire adventure, while gaining confidence and skills along the way. So grateful to have experienced it with my family.

Fun for all ages. - Had a great time rappeling and ziplining with Maquique, we were a party of three, ages 18,20 and 50+, there were other parties with younger kids and older adults. Getting to the meeting spot is an adventure in itself. From there, they outfit you with safety equipment and show you what to do. Then there is a short ride to the first zip line/rappel. From there, it is one rappel/zip after the other with walks in between. Even though it was hot out that day, we didn't feel it due to cloud cover and tree cover. There is a 15ish minute hike towards the end to the last zip line, which takes you right back to the meeting area. After that there is a lunch at a nearby soda. Food choices were stewed beef, grilled chicken or vegetarian. They will take photos and videos for you, but they won't photo/video everything, so bring your own camera if you want to document it all.
