This 100% off road ATV experience is wet, muddy and exciting! You will cross streams, ride through the rainforest, swim in a river all with sweeping views of open pasture land and rainforest. All under the shadow of the Arenal Volcano. We stop at the Arenal River so you can take a dip in this rainforest river setting and we will serve you fresh tropical fruit and water. We provide you with rubber boots & a helmet with a full face visor. This is a semi-private tour with Pure Trek clients only. Minimum age for a single is 15 yrs (a guide can ride in back of a child as young as 12yrs). Drivers of single ATV’s must have a valid driver’s license.

Pure Trek = Pure Excitement - We did both the canyoning and the ATV tour. We had so much fun! The ATV tour was half a day and included a snack with fresh fruit. The driving is quite difficult and you will get muddy. We loved seeing the volcano up close and getting to shoot a bow and arrow was a nice touch. The canyoning is not for the faint of heart. This is the real deal. You can opt out of the "monkey drop", but the 4 other waterfalls are non-negotiable. There are a lot of staff on site to take you through each of the rappels. We were nervous, but everything felt really safe. You will get wet, so leave your cell phones at home. They will take pictures during the tour which are reasonably priced. There are lockers to put your stuff in prior to the canyoning. Afterwards, they take you back to headquarters for a nice lunch and to view the photos. The facilities at their headquarters are very nice with places to change your clothes. We would definitely book another tour with them again.

Highly recommend! - Oh my gosh! This was soooo much fun!! We loved all of it! The rapelling in the waterfalls was amazing and while I am afraid of heights, the guides make you feel so comfortable and safe that I was not afraid! The ATV was more challenging than I expected and we loved it!

Family of 5, one of the best days on our trip! - We had absolutely the best time! We had a family of five, my youngest daughter, age 10 was afraid of heights, but somehow they reassured her, and she completed it! You will never forget this excursion! We would 100% do it again in a heartbeat. In addition, they had the best lunch we’ve had all vacation!!!

Amazing Experience! - We started our day off by going to Outback adventures ATV. Pretty sure we were missed during pickup as it took 25 minutes after our pickup time and having to contact the tour operator before getting picked up. When we arrived everyone was already there. The ATV tour itself was amazing. Very beautiful routes that you ride through and we even stopped at the river for a swim to cool off. We purchased photos of the ATV ride, which was about 35 or 40 USD, but we only got like 4 photos. Still a very nice trip and way to see the volcano and jungles of Costa Rica.
After our ATV tour we took a ride to Puretrek Canyoning where we changed and put our stuff in lockers. We ate a delicious typical Costa Rican lunch. Then we took a bus and then a wagon to our canyoning destination. I can’t remember any of our guides names, there were so many. But they were all very nice, funny, informative, and fun! We had an absolute blast canyoning down the five waterfalls and even the monkey drop! As someone who is very much afraid of heights (or fear of falling) this adventure and the tour guides are amazing at helping you conquer your fears! We wanted to do it all over again after our last rappel because it was that great of an experience and almost booked again for the next day. We paid for the pictures afterwards, which was totally worth it. This was by far my FAVORITE adventure in La Fortuna and plan to do this everytime we come back.

Adrenaline - Had a blast riding ATV's first then the waterfalls. A fun day of adventure. We all loved the rappelling the best, but the ATV ride was also fun.

ATV + waterfall canyon tour - It was really fun. The guides both at the atv experience and waterfall canyoning were wonderful! Both tours are independent though so don’t have to be done together

Amazing experience - A amazing experience, I would do it all over again if I could, quad tour was slow I thought we would have got the chance to go fast but no, the river stop was beautiful to have a swim, then lunch and canyoning.
A big thank you to the amazing man Jonathan who was our tour guide in canyoning. He is extremely knowledgeable, kind, funny and a all over nice person and made the day extra special.

Adventure you shouldn't miss! - My husband and two teenaged daughters (18 & 15) did this tour. It was super fun & we recommend it. My 15 yr old couldn't drive one of the ATVs so she rode with her sister. They LOVED it! There is a bit of backroads but a lot is trails vs. roads. It is out & back on the same path though. We would've preferred a different route back for more scenery. You do have to stop for a 15-20min presentation on local customs (I'm sure because it passes through the person's property).
Canyoning was also amazing - we felt totally safe, the guides were very friendly and fun. It is more canyoning than rappelling (I.e. more fly down on the rope vs. pushing off of the canyon wall with your feet). There are 5 "rappels" first is 108' and a few around 80' and one smaller one ~ 40'. There is quite a hike up switch back stairs at the end.
