Excellent tour operator and tons of wildlife! - The communication with Canoa was fantastic! They sent a reminder/confirmation email and let us know where to meet and what to wear. The safari float was so fun and peaceful, and even when it rained crocodiles and turtles. We saw iguanas, Jesus Christ lizards, howler monkeys. a turtle, and multiple crocodiles! Our guide was full of interesting facts about La Fortuna! The snack was well done, and I loved the fried plantains and tortillas. The chocolate demonstration was fun. We also appreciated our guide taking us to La Fortuna Waterfall, telling us about it, and taking pictures of us. The service was amazing! Lunch was also excellent. Our kids loved the pasta bolognese, and the pizzas looked delicious! Thank you for a great day!

Fun Trip 2024 - Chino was an excellent guide. We walked through the rainforest stopping to see different birds, insects, and animals. The bridges were thrilling. The La Fortuna waterfall was breathtaking! And the lunch from the local restaurant was a delicious treat.

Safari and Waterfall combo tour - We did the combo of the Safari River float and then the hike to La Fortuna Waterfall, which also included a great lunch at a restaurant next to Canoa Aventura's main office. We got picked up from our hotel and had a great time on the float, which required a little paddling from us, but was mostly about our guide, Lidier, taking care of the river and pointing out various animals to us (he was also very knowledgeable about trees and plants when we asked too). We got to see a lot of lizards, including iguanas and an emerald basilisk, howler monkeys, and a crocodile that was sleeping on the opposite shore. There were several other rafts going at the same time we were, and the guides called out to each other to help make sure each boat was spotting everything. We also got a snack and a mini-lecture on making chocolate at the end of the float.
After the float, we drove back to the office, where we split up form the other groups and headed to the waterfall, with Lidier still as our guide and driver. If I were to go back in the future, I'm not sure I would feel the need for a guide for the waterfall, but for our first time there, it was very helpful to have someone who knew how to get there, supplied us with towels, and had taken care of admission and reading all of the current rules about where we could or could not swim (there had been a lot of rain recently, so we were not able to swim directly where the waterfall was, but had a lovely time in the river with a great view of the falls, and still got incredible photos). Afterwards, Lidier drove us to a wonderful lunch and then back to our hotel, also letting us make a quick stop at a store we saw on the way. Overall it was a lovely day getting to know the area and the wildlife, and we were in great hands the whole time!

A great tour! - We had a great trip with Joshua and Venicio, with Alex Driving. We did the hanging bridges and waterfall tour. We are a family of 6, kids 5-14 and everyone had fun, and the 5 year old managed the stairs at the waterfall just fine. This was a nice sized tour, we had 17 in our group which seemed perfectly manageable.
Things we didn’t know that we wish we had: you can leave some stuff in the bus (assume it to be at your own risk), so you don’t need to lug around bathing suits and things like that through the hike. The tour provided towels at the waterfall and there is a small restroom at the entrance to the falls you can change in.
Overall we had a great time, the guides were amazing with our kids, especially my 5 year old who can be quite talkative. We are glad we booked this tour in our short trip to La Fortuna.

Perfect way to start our CR trip! - The communication was wonderful with this tour operation. Our guide Jason was wonderful. We began our trip with hanging bridges. I am EXTREMELY afraid of heights but was able to do this (and that’s saying a LOT). The bridges are very secure and the scenery is totally worth it! Jason was able to point out wildlife and he was very knowledgeable. The tour was about 2 hours. Afterwards they had pineapple for us. We then went directly to La fortuna waterfall. The hike down was pretty easy and the waterfall left me speechless. The water was cool…but not freezing. You have about an hour down there and then get ready to make your way back up. I’m in good shape and found it difficult. My legs are still aching. After this we headed to a local soda where we had already placed our order. Food was great and you can buy a cerveza to congratulate yourself on your day! Our family absolutely loved this tour of hanging bridges and waterfall. We followed this tour with a viator day pass to Baldi hot springs with dinner to help our sore muscles!!

Enjoyed the Bridges, Meh on the waterfall, and great guide! - The day started of amazingly - prompt pickup; super friendly and informative guide (David); and easy entry to the Hanging Bridges. The park was busy but David managed our expectations well as to the various wait times due to capacity management on some of the bridges. He searched diligently to find wildlife for us to see and was great about capturing photos on our phones via his telescopic scope. We were really fortunate to see a Margay which made the trip extra special. La Fortuna waterfall is nice but didn’t really seem to us to be worth all the hype. There were a lot of steps for what amounted to a short and very cold swim and a couple of waterfall photos. The lunch was yummy but the open air restaurant is on the main road so it was a little noisy. All in all a good trip but we personally would skip the waterfall if we were to do it again.

Hanging bridges and waterfall 2 in 1 - We did the hanging bridges and Arenal water fall for our 2 in one experience. The hanging bridges allowed you to go deep into the rain forest. Our guide Joshua was great and super knowledgeable explaining the eco system and about different insects and animals. Just wish we would have seen more animal-disappointing. We ate a fun lunch the moved on to the waterfall. Part of our tour group only did one activity do we spent the next 45 minutes dropping them off before going to the waterfall. This was a waste of time. I would recommend they not mix groups of people doing a digestive activity with this’d doing 2 in 1.
The waterfall was beautiful, a long way down and a long way up….over 500 steps each way. I woukd say you need to be in decent shape on the trek back up. Overall the bridges were a nice, calm, slow adventure.
