Great tourguide! - Our tour guide was named Andres. He was awesome! We asked many questions and he was full of knowledge, friendly, helpful, and fun! The hike was amazing with the nature and animals even though it rained the whole day.

The Best Guide in Costa Rica. - This was a fantastic journey along trails culminating in a breathtaking view of a beautiful cascading waterfall. Our Guide Gabriel led us up the final trail until we came to one of the most spectacular views of a blue waterfall. The trek to this destination was arduous for us, but Gabriel was patient and thoughtful as he ensured that we were in a position to reap the benefit of this marvelous vista. Gabriel made it happen for us and we cannot thank him enough!

Wonderful rainforest hike. - What a great tour. Amazing waterfall, trail, and rainforest hike. We were led by Jose, who was very well versed about the rainforest, and told us about the plants, trees, animals, their interaction and how the ecology of the rainforest works. He was a very helpful guide, full of knowledge of the area.

Unforgettable Trip/令人难忘的旅行 - My daughter and I did the Tenorio Volcano hike in La Fortuna. We really enjoyed it even it was raining during the hike. The driver and the guide were nice and knowledgeable. We saw a monkey and several toucans on the road. We would not see these animals without the driver pointing out to us. It was an unforgettable and worthy trip. Sorry, we just forgot the driver’s name.

Ask for Ronald S. When doing your tours - Family of four, 8y/o and 6y/o got private pickup from Chachagua Rainforest Hotel. About 1hr 40min from RioCeleste. Van was brand new, comfortable for the ride. Driver supplied soda and water. Tour guide, Ronald Jimenez Saborio accompanied us from the first pickup at 7:30am to drop-off back at hotel around 4:30pm. Ronald was a knowledgable professional naturalist, spoke perfect English and kept our kids engaged throughout the trip. He was attentive to our needs and made a 2 hour drive feel like 20minutes. We stopped along the way for coffee/ bathroom, and to see all kinds of animals. We saw toucans, sloth, howler monkeys, iguana’s, tarantulas and received a PhD class education. Our kids loved Ronald so much, we think no tour guide could ever top this experience. If you book Jacamar tours ask for Ronald to be your guide! We hiked the national park down to the waterfall, then went mountain tubing. Just the right amount of adventure. Highly recommend this tour for kids.

Our guide was the best!! - My wife and I visited Costa Rica on our honeymoon. We had a long trip from our first hotel to our second, so we booked the Rio Celeste rainforest hike to break up the trip on the way. JP was our guide for the day and we couldn't have asked for a better guide!! He was so knowledgeable of the country, he spotted so many animals that we would have never seen (including a poisonous snake that he made sure not only my wife and I didn't go near, but also all of the other hikers in the area). The hike was beautiful and JP was even better. Would absolutely recommend.

Rio Celeste Hike and Transfer - Long day but well worth it! We were picked up from our hotel and drove an hour to the waterfall with our group. The tour guides Omar, Ronald, and Nelson were great guides and drivers. They guided us through the trail, helped with lunch, and even have a few surprises along the drive! The Rio Celeste walk is a must see when in Costa Rica!

Wonderful site, weird guide - Rio Celeste waterfall was a 10/10; highly recommend. However, our guide, Jairo, affected our experience. I appreciated his vast egological knowledge, however there was a strangeness in how he interacted (or lack thereof) with me. My partner (male) and I (female) immediately noticed Jairo would not look at me, though he'd make direct eye contact with my partner. He wouldn't speak if I was walking closer to him, but would fully engage my partner if he was closer in proximity. Early on we expressed my partner was there under protest and I was the hiking lover and the one most interested in the ecology aspects. He consistently responded to my partner, though I was the one asking the questions. I made numerous observations/statements and he'd be silent. Later, he'd tie them into something he was discussing with my partner, and even give him credit for my observations. My parter was so uncomfortable with the "exclusive bro's club" Jairo was attempting to carry throughout the long day, that he simply stopped participating in Jairo's engagement. Only then was he forced to interact with me. We kept looking for excuses, possibly cultural or perceived respectfulness? Unlikely since no other males throughout our 10 day stay chose to interact like this. The experience weighed on me for over 24 hours after the tour. Fortunately my partner and I were able to make light of the situation with a few jokes and move on.
