Will go again! - La Fortuna Waterfall was absolutely stunning! The hike down was a bit steep, but the sight of the waterfall was worth every step. The water was a beautiful turquoise, and I couldn’t resist jumping in for a swim. I loved taking a moment to relax on the rocks and just soak in the atmosphere. It’s a perfect spot for photography, too! I recommend going early in the day to avoid the crowds. Don’t forget your water shoes for the slippery areas. This place is a must-visit in Costa Rica!

Stunning views! - The views were amazing!! The hike down was beautiful. The waterfall itself was beautiful. The hike back up was a little much lol. But totally worth it. We added lunch to the tickets and it was really good. Our server was funny and personable. Really enjoyed the day!

500 steps later… - A truly beautiful place to visit. We did this as part of a package with Canoa Aventura. Be warned the steps down seem great but on the way back up you may need plenty of breaks! Take water! Totally worth it. We were fortunate enough to be caught in a rain storm on the way back to the top! We did not use the restaurant there only changing facilities. But clean and did the job.

Great Way to Spend an Afternoon - We had a great time at the La Fortuna waterfall. We ended up walking there from La Fortuna, which is definitely doable, but it is a long uphill walk. It did however made us more excited to take a dip in the water! We appreciated that there were both paid lockers by the front desk and free hooks for storing backpacks right after the riverside. I would say this is a must if you are staying in La Fortuna!

Awesome cool river experience and beautiful waterfall! - This was a great way to spend an afternoon. The walk up/down to the waterfall is not "easy" but it is safe and you can stop along the way. It's just a long way down. But, it's definitely worth the walk! We couldn't go into the pool at athe bottom of the falls because it had rained the day before but we had tons of fun swimming and climbing rocks in the river below the falls. It was wonderfully chilly and had a little bit of current making it a "not-lazy" river, lol. I think water shoes were super helpful for the rocks. Everyone leaves there stuff on the side of the river and it feels very safe. We had a great experience and would definitely recommend this!

Fortuna waterfall - It's a major climb down and back, but it's worth it and there are many places to stop and sit along the way so don't feel discouraged. The power of this waterfall is at it's best when enjoyed close-up.

It didn't WOW me... - Mixed reviews regarding the waterfall. If you've seen waterfalls before, you wouldn't really be missing out if you decided to skip La Fortuna. When I visited, it was raining, so the main swimming area was closed. There is a shallow swimming area opposite the falls, but it's a tad underwhelming. Fantastic if the weather is hot and dry, but with how cold the water is, I didn't think it was worth taking a dip. The waterfall is pretty, but it didn't wow me. Wear comfortable shoes because you'll be working up a sweat going back up the stairs!
