Loved watching the sloths - We did this in the morning and loved it, we saw so many birds and 2 and 3 toed sloths. Our guide was amazing, so knowledgeable. The owner of the property actually went out with us and helped us spot things, we got to make and drink sugar water at the end and then had some snacks after. It was a great tour!

Excellent Sloths and Bird Tour! - Our guide was excellent! She was knowledgeable, pleasant and tried hard to make sure that everyone had a great experience! We were fortunate to see 2 three toed sloths and one juvenile two toed sloth. In addition, we saw fruit eating bats, several types of lizards, and beautiful poison frogs. We saw cane being harvested for juice and got to taste it! The tour ended at a small organic farm where empanadas and fresh fruit was served and birds could be viewed. Overall, a tour that was very enjoyable!

Great place to see sloths and learn about CR plants and animals. Ask for Helen as a guide - I would highly this tour especially if you ask for Helen as a tour guide. Having traveled 4 continents and having a lot of wild life naturalists, she is among the very best. It is a great setting with lots of sloths if you know where to look. We learned a lot about the plants, and saw a tremendous number of birds and reptiles.

Very knowledge guide for a great tour - Helen has an amazing knowledge and understanding of the local wildlife, flora and fauna. She is so passionate about her work she made the experience a truly memorable one. We were also treated to a visit to a local farm afterwards to have some delicious fruit, fruit juice and cassava. A perfect end to a wonderful morning

Visiting Costa Rica? Let Jacamar Tours educate you in this wonderful environment. - Jacamar has the activity business down to a science. This was our first time in Costa Rica to celebrate 50 years of marriage. Jacamar Tour Service was highly rated on Trip Advisor and I can see why. My wife and I booked three tours. This particular tour was of animals in the rainforest. Tour guide Jorge was informative and did not disappoint. We could not be more impressed with the ease of booking, pick up at the hotel, very good English as a second language by all guides and seeing a multitude of rainforest animals that the uneducated (like us) would have walked right past. You won't be disappointed using Jacamar and their professionally licensed tour guides.

Would Go Again! - This tour was awesome, especially with Melony as our guide. Her knowledge of local wildlife was matched only by her enthusiasm in making sightings for her tour group. In total, we spotted five sloths; four toucans; countless bats hanging inside a banana plant leaf; an agouti; poison "blue jean" frog; and more. I highly recommend this tour.

Perfect wildlife tour - This tour was outstandingly good. Our guide David Melico was extremely knowledgeable as well as being very welcoming and friendly and knew where to spot sloths (both species endemic to Costa Rica) as well as many species of birds and - a highlight of the our tour - Red Poison Dart Frogs and Green and Black Poison Dart Frogs. A final spot for fresh juice and a snack finished a perfect experience. Thank you!

Wonderful, Reliable Tour Company and Guides! - As an experienced event/workshop producer, I hit the jackpot with using Jacamar Naturalist Tours for private, customized tour needs during our recent (large) group trip to Costa Rica. Some of the tours we did included a Tarcoles River Boat tour, Carara National Park, and finding sloths and other activities in the La Fortuna area. I worked with the AMAZING Lory Chacon Campos over months and months on unique itineraries that made our workshop a success. We had multi-day custom tours that included a wide variety of vehicles and drivers, hired many naturalist guides, and a variety of support staff. Lory was the key to the success of all our many activities and transportation needs; she was incredibly attentive, caring and was the perfect partner. Jacamar is a great choice when traveling to Costa Rica for any tour and/or transportation needs from the high-quality vehicles, reliable and experienced drivers, expert guides - they always had everything under control and coordinated. Our lead nature guide – Ronald Caravaca – was fabulous. Ronald is not only highly experienced with many years of being a professional guide, but he is also a passionate photographer and was the perfect fit for our group; so grateful that he was with us every step of the way. Melany Ocon was also endlessly knowledgeable, patient and terrific. Jacamar guides are amazing with their knowledge of wildlife/birds, Costa Rican culture and traditions, and they were also fun to hang out with! I am grateful to have found them and I very much look forward to working together again.

Private tour of sloths - GREAT! - My guide was very easy to talk with and he had sharp eyes to see all the sloths and birdies! We even saw several tiny poison frogs and one of Costa Rica's largest rodents while on our walk through the park! He helped me get great pictures and I really appreciated the time he took to scout ahead to find good places to stop and look for birds and sloths. A very memorable tour!
