Absolute must do! The best experience ever. - The best experience and best company ever! We did the canyoning/rafting combo a few days ago and it was one of the best experiences we have ever done. There were 4 of us (2 adults and a 14 and 12 year old). My wife was absolutely terrified and really annoyed with me for booking this 🙈 but the whole team there were absolutely fantastic with all of us. They are all really kind, funny, knowledgable and experienced. My wife shed a few tears before doing the first rappell but the team were inspirational in helping her and she was so happy, confident and loved the whole experience. We all absolutely loved it, it’s such a beautiful place as well and would recommend this experience and this company every time. Plus they send you photos and videos with no extra charge (some really funny ones too!!). Sorry I can’t remember all the names to give shout outs and don’t want to leave anyone out but you were all amazing!! Thank you Maquique PURA VIDA

Never Too Old, at least not yet. - When we booked this trip for our family, my husband and I thought that we would stand aroud and take pictures of the kids and grandchildren having fun. When we got to the Maquique Adventure, the guides told us that we would be fine, so we did it, and what a blast! My husband and I each got our own guide, I had Victor, and all the guides took such good care of us. We were able to do everything the kids did, and it was so exciting and fun. Victor never left my side, and when I had to do the jumps alone, he was waiting for me when I landed. I gained confidence and the last waterfall zipline I did with my 10 year old granddaughter. The walks through the water with wet, slippery rocks were challenging, but Victor made sure that I was safe. He allowed me to go at my own pace and I am very grateful to him and this whole company for their dedication to safety and family fun.

Amazing family adventure day in Costa Rica with Maquique Adventure. - Maquique was absolutetly top notch from the pickup in the morning to the final dropoff. We did the all day Canyoning and Rafting trip as a family of 4 with 2 kids 13 and 10. This was our last adventure day in Costa Rica and beat out everything else we did. We started with the Canyoning with Kenneth, Kennth, Befferson and one other guide. There were multiple different types of rappels and 2 ziplines with the last being a long zipline across the canyon back to the starting point. We had never rappeled and the guides made us feel exceptionally safe throughout the trip. The pointed out different wildlife on our journey and were very knowledgable about the area. They also would take any pictures you wanted and sent them all at the end of the night. They videoed all of us doing several of the rappels and really did a great job. At the end of the Canyoning our 2 kiddos said this was hands down the best thing they had ever done. At the end of the Canyoning, we had some fruit and small snacks and loaded into one of the vans for about a 40minute trip to the Rafting dropin. Along the way the rafting guides talked to us about all the different type of farms we were passing and the local Costa Rican economy. We stopped at a little store part of the way to our destination for a bathroom break and to buy any drinks, snacks we wanted. One of our guides spooted a sloth in a tree and it just happened to have a little baby sloth in tow so that was an amazing thing to see. There were 8 total people on the trip the day we went so we split into 2 groups of 4 on the rafts with guides Carlos and Mario. Our family had never been whitewater rafting and Carlos was so patient and helpful with all of us. They also had 3 safety kayakers in the water for extra safety and to take pictures that they sent at the end of the night. The first half of the approximatetly 2 hours of the rafting trip was intense and awesome all at the same time. Our entire family really felt safe and like we were in the hands of a true river expert as Carlos took us down the river. When we finished our kids once again changed their mind to saying whitewater rafting was now the hands down best thing we did. All the pictures in this post were taken by our guides and sent to us at the end of the night free of charge. They also sent us videos of several of our rappels. They really were amazing.

Canyoning and rafting fun - We loved our canyoning and rafting experience! The guides were fun and professional, the equipment was well maintained and the natural beauty and adrenaline rush was unmatched. There are a lot of tour options but you really can’t go wrong with Maquique.

Book it!! 10/10! - Bucket list experience! We have rafted and rappelled many times in different countries. The day we spent rafting, rappelling and zip lining with Maquique was by far the BEST experience we have ever had! From the guides to the people behind the scenes, there aren’t enough words to describe the day! Special shout out to Mariano, our whitewater guide, who joined us for his first time trying the waterfall rappelling. What a day!! Every person who works at Maquique is TOP NOTCH!! Getting the free pictures and videos sent to us later that night- icing on the cake. Thank you for lifetime memories!

Awesome day with Maquique Adventures! - Had an AMAZING time with Maquique Adventures! It was our first time rappelling and the guides were awesome and supportive and friendly! The company went the extra mile to help us get all of the pictures and videos they took (& didn’t charge us extra for the images!) we will definitely be back!

MUST DO!! TRUST ME - THIS IS A MUST DO ACTIVITY!!!! From start to finish one of the best excursions I've had and worth every penny. The guides (Kenneth and Kenneth) are very nice, experts on safety (both in the air and on the rocky terrain on the ground), and highly knowledgeable about the rainforest and costa rica in general. The bonus was that they took soooo many good pictures for us as a gift. No pressure to buy anything. This was challenging, thrilling, and safe all at the same time. You will have a great time.

The perfect introduction to canyoning and whitewater rafting! - Maquique did an absolutely amazing job making the canyoning and whitewater rafting tour safe, interesting, thrilling, and entertaining. All of the staff were some of the friendliest I’ve come across in Costa Rica. They were happy doing what they do, and that made the experience infinitely more enjoyable. Pictures were taken during both canyoning and rafting, and were sent to us free of charge. This was really appreciated, as most tours make you pay extra. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this tour and Maquique as a whole. I would gladly take the tour again whenever I come back to La Fortuna.

Great canyoning and white water rafting combined tour - good safety conscious guides, free photos - Canyoning course is amazing - through a beautiful jungle valley with some really amazing waterfalls to rappel down. Great guides who were very safely conscious - lots of checking of harnesses, safety lines and so on as you go round the course. Were great with everyone (our kids 8 and 10 loved it). Rappel drop into water about half way through is fun, as is the last 60 metre waterfall. We did the combined tour, so after end of canyoning some pineapple then a bus ride to the white water rafting on the Rio Balsa. Again great, and very safety conscious guides. Nice stop for fruit down the river (and can of beer at the end). Free photos / videos as well which is a nice bonus

Great experience and even better guides! - Hands down was such a good experience! We did the canyoning and rafting combo! For the canyoning we had Rondito and Jairo! They were so personable and fun to hang out with!! We got snacks and lunch and even had pictures being take on us!! Then we went rafting with Mario, Gustavo and Francisco! Super Mario was a fantastic raft guide! They helped answer all of our questions and taught us so much! I highly recommend this company!!
