Book itQ - The tour was s great experience, complete with funny, knowledgeable guides. The float down the river was a relaxing chance to be in the middle of nature and to see diff wildlife. We saw monkeys, lizards, various birds and there's a chance to see even more. Highly recommend!

A really fun way to experience Costa Rica's rivers and wildlife! - This is a really fun experience for all ages in La Fortuna! The pickup and dropoff transportation was prompt and comfortable. We drove to the starting point, where we used the bathroom, got our life jackets, and took some group photos before launching. As a group of 11, we were split into two boats and headed down the river. This is a fairly gentle float, and the guide prompts you when you need to paddle. It absolutely poured on us, which is always a risk in Costa Rica, so be prepared with a rain jacket, hat, or just a positive attitude that it's OK to get wet :) Because of the rain, our guide let us know it might be more difficult to see a lot of animals. But we ended up seeing several groups of howler monkeys, lots of iguanas, many birds, and some cows. And the highlight of the trip was our guide Andres, who told us so many interesting things about the wildlife, the trees and plants, and Costa Rica in general. The knowledge and passion he shared with us were really special! All of the guides were great. With all the rain and the river, it was a little chaotic and slippery, so I really appreciated that the guides were very attentive to making sure my 79 year old grandparents were able to get safely into and out of the boats. Another of the guides, Beth, had taken photos of our group throughout the tour, and shared them with us afterwards. It was nice that photos were included and no extra charge! After we got to the finish point, they had set up water, beers, and delicious fresh fruit that we could enjoy while they packed up the boats and equipment. From this spot we were also able to see (and hear) a huge group of howler monkeys across the river. Overall, great experience for families—highly recommend!

We love it - We loved it, the guides were very professional, they took great care of the details, and they were very kind, even the bus driver. My family was very delighted and happy because we saw many animals. I recommend them 100%, they won't disappoint you.

Wildlife safari river rafting tour - Great safari tour!!! Excellent experience and beautiful memories. Bethshiva was a pleasure to have as a tour guide. Her main concern was for us to enjoy the moment which we did from beginning to end and will always remember. Thank you Bethshiva for being so accommodating, prompt and hospitable. Great boat tour - The boat tour with Bess was a fascinating experience with a wide variety of wildlife, including various species of birds, monkeys, a toucan, iguanas and even a snake. The careful instructions and the provision of life jackets contributed to safety. The conclusion with a delicious fruit plate was a great ending. Overall, a recommendable and enriching tour.

Highlight! - We had the best time with RUAL on our river safari! He took such good care of us, including our 7 year old twins, and was so knowledgeable. It was a highlight of our trip for sure!

River - Great morning , Nice and relaxing on the river perfect for families. Stopped half way and some fruits and water .

Rafting trip - Beth is the best tour guide! We had an amazing safari tour and saw a bunch of wildlife! Was so pretty and perfect for the whole family!

The best!!!! - This tour was PERFECT. That’s all I can say. Betshiva, the owner of Calypso Tours was the best! She made us feel like family. She knew the river so well, we werent scared at all. It was truly a magical experience. She was knowledgeable and very friendly. We loved the tour so much as well as beth! I dont write reviews all the time but I had to this time because they deserve al the positive reviews and the starts! We saw monkeys, toucans, macaws, all other kinds of birds too… Thank you so much guys. Will def use Calypso again when we come back to Costa Rica! Book her! You will love it! Its so worth it!

Well supported trip made less successful by weather - We ended up being the only party booked and were able to arrange direct pickup at our VRBO which was amazing. Unfortunately the weather was not great for animal viewing (out of anyone's control), but we had a good time regardless and felt well supported for the excursion.
