Setting Sail on the Charlie Ruggle

The sun was beginning its descent as I stepped aboard the Charlie Ruggle, a luxurious motor yacht that promised an evening of adventure and relaxation. The gentle clinking of glasses and the soft murmur of the sea set the tone for what was to be an unforgettable sunset cruise. Our crew, Craig and JJ, welcomed us with warm smiles and a chilled glass of cava, instantly making us feel at home. As a former professional surfer, I’ve spent countless hours on the water, but there’s something uniquely thrilling about setting sail on a vessel like this.

The coastline of La Herradura is a sight to behold, with its national and marine parks offering a stunning backdrop of lush greenery and sparkling waters. As we cruised along, Craig and JJ shared stories of the area’s history, pointing out the incredible villas that dotted the landscape. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and it wasn’t long before we were all laughing and sharing stories of our own adventures.

A Feast for the Senses

As the sun dipped lower, JJ began preparing a feast that would tantalize our taste buds. The paddleboard was a hit, offering a chance to glide across the calm waters and take in the beauty of Cañuelo beach from a different perspective. Snorkeling was another highlight, revealing a vibrant underwater world teeming with life. It’s moments like these that remind me why I fell in love with the ocean in the first place.

Dancing with Dolphins

As we made our way back to the marina, the evening took an unexpected turn. A small pod of bottle-nosed dolphins appeared, their playful antics captivating everyone on board. They danced alongside the boat, leaping and twirling in the golden glow of the setting sun. It was a magical encounter that left us all in awe, a perfect ending to an already extraordinary day.
