Set out on a cross island adventure to experience the energy, food, culture, and magic of La Parguera! After exploring the village, hop aboard our boat in the original Bioluminescent Bay. Navigating to the darkest area, you will be able to safely touch, see, and swim in the bioluminescence, or enjoy from the boat. This is without question, the best way to do the bay!
Touted by most as an “indescribable” experience, let the magic of the bioluminescence sparkle and dance in the water around you. Our captain will find the darkest, and most active location, to allow the best visibility and interaction!

Additional Information
Described by many as a sight that can’t be put into words, observe the water glisten and ripple when disturbed. Engulf yourself in the wilderness under a vibrant sky, miles away from the urban environment. No artificial lights or human-created effects, just the natural occurrence of bioluminescence calmly illuminating these safeguarded waters. With cameras unable to encapsulate this spectacle, it’s certainly an experience not to be missed!!
- Swimming is not mandatory. While it is an option that we highly advise you to take advantage of, no guest is required to swim if they are not comfortable to do so
- This is not a Kayak Tour. Guests will be transported via motor boat through the protected waters to the best location to see and swim in the bioluminescence
- Total time on the water is 45 minutes - 1 hour. Guests will be able to swim for 20 minutes
- Visibility of the bioluminescence will fluctuate with weather, currents, and the moon cycle.
- All guests pay regular rate regardless of age. The number of participants is monitored by the DRNA and is by seat, not age

- The Gina's Johnny's Boats check in Kiosk is located in the plaza right next to Restaurante El Karacol.
- We do recommend guests arriving early to enjoy the village at La Parguera and dinner!
- This activity takes place in La Parguera which is about a 2 hour drive from the San Juan Area

Glowing under the Milky Way - This Was the most unbelievable experience i I think I have ever had. I am a scuba diver, so I am not a stranger to waters. But this was exquisite and we had the gift of being able to see as we said, as we swam the Milky Way up above us.

Memorable family excursion - A pleasant 20 min boat ride to the bay where my family (including kids ages 3, 11, 13) all enjoyed swimming for about 20 min. Great experience. Cell phones aren’t able to photograph however. Text updates prior to arrival were helpful but arrive extra early because parking is challenging.

Amazing - This was amazing, I would love to come and visit again we just can’t get enough. The water was so warm the luminescent light were bright and very visible the tour guide was very informative and helpful. This adventure was amazing.

A one time good experience - Well, simple to explain. You get on a small boat with other tourists and are driven to a remote dark location, jump off boat and swim (10 minutes). The faster the movements the more bioluminescence is seen. Only complaint was that excursion was for 2015 to 2115 hours , we didn’t leave until 2045 hours.

Cool experience! - Cool experience, wish the time for swimming was longer but it takes awhile to got to the bay from the dock and they do two tours per evening.
