Wonderful Ruins - Very interesting site, worth the drive through the ugly landscape of El Alto bereft of trees or vegetation. The Sun Gate and the Underworld temple were the highlights of the site for us, the associated museums are very good as well

Tiwanaku is a good place to visit - It is definitely a great place to visit, however due to the driving time i think there may be other places nearby that may make more sense since the drive is not very pleasant
