My favorite thing we did in Louisiana - This by far was my favorite thing we did in Louisiana. I am a sucker for animals, conservation, and riding fast boats! We saw a good amount of wildlife for December seeing as gators brumate. A lot of the big guys were already in there hiding spots for winter since it was dipping below 70, but we still saw 3 little guys and 1 big boy. Lots of cool herons and egret type birds. Even a fish. Our tour guide seems as if he grew up around the swamp all his life so he knew a lot about the wildlife and the environment. He was very respectful of the animals which I loved. There were other tour guides that we encountered who would try and get them to move by throwing marshmallows at them which I thought was in bad taste, we are in the alligators house, you know! Being from far away and not knowing the area at all I am glad we went with the bus pick up. They made it super simple for pick up and drop off and even made a special drop off for us, which was above and beyond. Highly recommend!

Great family activity - This was so much fun! It was cold and misting, but our guide made the best of it. Our daughter always has questions and he was so great at answering them all! We got to see different types of wildlife but also learn about the environment.

We were lucky to see... - We were lucky to see alligators at the time of year we did, but it would have been great to know before booking that at certain times of the year participants are less likely to encounter alligators. I also would have enjoyed the opportunity to feed the alligators (but I understand tours probably can't because of safety reasons). Nonetheless it was a good experience.

Underwhelming - Long waits. Short ride. Only saw one gator. Maybe could find a way to make it more interesting. Tour guides were great though!

Mixed review - I was expecting something more ecological, in the sense of "respect for flora and fauna", more picturesque too. But there is a line to walk in the bayou. Once again, we are faced with profitability more than authenticity. We only "saw" 2 alligators this December! It would be good to warn that this is not the best season or the best time to observe them.
