Taruga offers a fantastic boating tour through a dozen caves along the famous Benagil coastline in a smaller boat. - An incredible tour by small boat through a dozen caves along the Benagil coastline. A must do trip for any age! Our guide Victor and captain William were amazing at telling great stories of the caves and rock formations as well as navigating through tiny openings into and out of the caves. Our small boat was full with just ten people which gave us great maneuverability. We had a glorious sunny day in mid February and were comfortable with rolled up pants and short sleeves. We had lightweight safety halters to wear and the child on board was given a fuller sized life jacket. The caves were beautiful and the water so clear. The unique rock formations, cliffs and beaches that make the Algarve famous were displayed beautifully by this able team. Booking online was easy, the directions were great and there is a nice cafe to hang out at while awaiting our tour. There is a pretty steep walk from the parking area down to the boat launch area to be aware of. Thanks for a wonderful adventure to Victor and William, aka James Bond for his deft boating skills!

Benagil in winter 2025 - Fantastic tour with Captain Super Mario and the guide William, everything very well explained, the caves are very beautiful, the sea was a little upset, but nothing that took the beauty of the place.

Benagil caves boat trip with Taruga and sea mystic guide Miguel - Loved the 90 mins boat trip from Portimao to see Benagil caves and the coastline. Our guide, Miguel, made the trip interesting by giving us tidbits of information as we entered many caves along the spectacular coastline. Miguel appeared very perceptive. His interactions were playful with one group, serious with another. He was helpful in taking pictures. Guessed exactly which tourists would want a picture for their social media and where. Overall, unforgettable memories of our boat trip with Taruga Tours. Our boat captain topped of this trip by spinning thrilling donuts just before we disembarked. Miguel, our sea mystic, was a highlight of our trip. Thanks for the experience!

On top - We made this excursion with danish and his colleague , the best navigator ^^ They were really top and super nice. We took full eyes from the inside, I recommend this activity with them;-)

The only way to see the caves - Great tour along the coastline on beautiful day when the sea was like glass. We got up close and inside to numerous caves. Although Benagli is the most famous all the caves are spectacular in their own right. We walked the coastline the next day which is incredible but you can really only truly appreciate the caves from the water. Captain was great at getting us inside the caves. Miguel was a good guide and helpful with taken photos of the journey.

Fun tour along the cliffs - The tour is taking you to many of the caves in the area. The guides like to make this some kind of rollercoaster ride between the cliffs. They really know how to operate the boats to go into tight caves and reverse with hardly any space and waves pumping the boat up and down. We enjoyed the tour very much. The crew on the boat was very friendly. Only the guy at the ticket counter seemed to be bored and not overly friendly.
