Nice trip to spend a day, but not enough time. - Starting at 8:20h, it took us almost 3 hours to get there, most of the time was spent by collecting guests from other hotels in Fortaleza. So our time at Lagoinha was relatively limited. I wish, the tour had started earlier. We had booked the english tour, which was at extra cost, but our guide (Adriana) was very helpful. We had bad experience from another tour, where we also booked the english tour, but there was no english speaking guide and we had lots of troubles and frustration understanding what was going on. So we made sure this time that the english guide was confirmed before the tour. The communication after booking via WhatsApp (confirmation, pick-up time, etc..) worked perfectly, we also re-assured the english guide with the tour operator this way and it worked. Note: if you are not brazilian, make sure to select EUR or USD as currency when booking (on Viator), else you are asked for a UID number of your credit card (which you normally don't have as a foreigner), and the booking cannot be completed. That took me frustrating hours and a call to customer service to eventually realize. A simple note at the booking input mask would have prevented that. But once you know, the rest of the booking process is simple and straightforward. The pick-up from the hotel was also right on time. The beach itself where we stopped was not so impressive for us, there was not much difference to other beaches we went to (e.g. Praia do Futuro). There is also a large, ugly, unfinished hotel at the west (left) end of the beach, spoiling the view. Also, there were strong currents, so you could not go far into the water. Actually, it is indeed dangerous, the guide warned us about it. The best view ist from the far eastern (right) end, where there is a group of palm trees and not many people. You can take nice pictures there. What saved the day was the round trip (buggy + boat + truck), which you must pay extra (we paid BRL90 pp in cash). This is really worth it. It took about two hours and went to really nice, offsite spots. Firstly, you start with buggys into the dunes, then you stop by several photo spots, including a shallow lake, with hammocs in the water (very nice). Unfortunately, each stop was too short to really relax. Next, you hop on a boat (catamaran) for a short trip, crossing another lake. At the end of that trip, there is a nice bar and restaurant and more hammocks in the water. The trip ends with a bumpy ride on the back of a truck, we found it also interesting as we saw the places, where local people actually live, off of the touristy path. Coming back to our starting point, we had (a good) lunch there and about another 90 minutes to walk around the beach. This was just right as there is (see my comment above) not much to see, so the stroll along the beach to the palm trees was nice. In all, it was a nice day and we did not regret it. I wish, the tour had started earlier and we would have had more time on our round trip.
