Our journey began in the sun-kissed Algarve, where the Marina de Lagos set the stage for our adventure. The kids were especially delighted by the chance to taste the famous Pastéis de Belém, a sweet treat that quickly became a family favorite.

The Ponte de Dom Luis I provided a stunning introduction to the city, and the kids were fascinated by the story of its construction. The Livraria Lello, with its beautiful architecture and connection to Harry Potter, was a must-visit for our family of book lovers. The Torre dos Clerigos offered a challenging climb, but the views from the top were well worth the effort.

In the Douro Valley, we enjoyed a leisurely lunch at Peso da Regua, savoring the local cuisine and soaking in the picturesque surroundings. The Quinta do Tedo winery was a delightful stop, offering a taste of Portugal’s renowned wines amidst the terraced vineyards. The kids enjoyed learning about the winemaking process, and I appreciated the opportunity to relax and unwind in such a beautiful setting.

Our final stop was the medieval village of Obidos, where the kids were enchanted by the fairy-tale atmosphere and ancient walls. As we strolled through the cobblestone streets, I couldn’t help but reflect on the incredible journey we had experienced together.
