The sun was just beginning to rise over the horizon as I made my way to Lake Park Marina, the starting point for what promised to be an unforgettable adventure. The air was crisp, and the gentle lapping of the waves against the dock set the perfect backdrop for a day of exploration. As a former professional surfer, I’ve spent countless hours in the ocean, but the idea of snorkeling with sharks was a thrilling new frontier.

The boat ride to the shark diving location was a leisurely 45-50 minutes, giving me ample time to soak in the beauty of the open water. The crew from Gung Ho Divers was friendly and knowledgeable, sharing stories of past encounters and the importance of respecting these majestic creatures. Their passion for the ocean was infectious, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of camaraderie with my fellow adventurers on board.

Diving into the Deep

Upon arrival, we were given a detailed safety briefing by the shark handler and safety diver. Their professionalism and dedication to our safety were evident, and I felt confident as I donned my snorkeling gear.
