• Western Bay - The 3.5-hour Adventurer tour sets off from Kinloch, just a brief 20-minute drive through the bush from Taupo. The skipper will guide you to the southern tip of the Western Bays, where you can explore the dramatic rock faces, formations, and ravines that are only reachable by boat.
• Karangahape Cliffs - These majestic cliffs stand tall, seemingly guarding the entrance to the southern end of the Western Bays. The cliffs plunge into the deep, dark waters of the lake below and rise high above as the boat approaches the cliff face.
• Te Papa Bay - Renowned for its pristine, crystal-clear waters, Te Papa Bay features an incredible sandbank just meters below the surface, where the hidden Waikino Falls cascade into the lake from the rock face at lake level. This is an ideal location for swimming and paddleboarding. To the left of the bay, a series of flat rocks, known locally as Flat Rock Café, provide the perfect spot for a picnic and rock jumping.
• Otupoto Falls - Get up close to the base of these stunning falls. For those feeling adventurous, join fellow travelers at the front of the boat to experience the cool, refreshing water.
• Waihora Bay - Uncover the hidden Tutaewaeroa waterfall nestled in a ravine in Waihora Bay. Enjoy the lush flora and fauna clinging to the cliff face as the boat edges in.
• Waihora Bay - Venture into a section of Waihora Bay known as Kotukutuku Landing. Disembark the boat for a brief 10-minute bush walk to the Kotukutuku Stream waterfall. This spot offers a fantastic opportunity to capture a photo with the waterfall as a stunning backdrop.
