If you are booking a tour that begins after midnight, please ensure you have selected the correct date. For example, if your tour starts at 12:30am on January 1st, it will occur on the night between December 31st and January 1st, so you will need to be in Lake Tekapo on December 31st. If you are uncertain about the date and time, please send us an email.

The meeting point is 70 Andrew Don Drive, you will need to drive on a gravel road for 200 meters, then you will see a sign with a red light that says ”Chameleon Stargazing”, you need to turn right at the sign and enter the gate marked with 2 road cones.

I went just for the... - I went just for the roasted marshmallows and got much more than that. Lovely hosts and amazing learning. Highly recommended.

Wonderful stargazing experience. - This was our first stargazing experience and we loved it!!!!! my kid enjoyed it more than us , he asked a lot of questions and our guide answered them really well , we got to see nebulas, the moon , galaxies. The Southern lights were an added bonus. They provided warm blankets, hot chocolate as well. At the end of the tour we had marshmallows by the campfire. overall a great experience. Highly recommend

Perfect activity for... - Perfect activity for anyone that enjoys looking up to the stars! The wintry nights are great you are lucky to have clear weather. It can get a little chilly but the company is so helpful with blankets and eventually some campfire with marshmallows. The information is great and our guide (whom I have forgotten her name but she was of Malaysian background) was so fun and full of information. She made things lighthearted and joyful.

Mindblowing! - I was curious as to why this experience was so highly rated, but now I understand! Was extremely fortunate to have such a clear night sky to appreciate so many of the wonders of our universe. Really well organised and the guide was super interactive and enthusiastic. Just an overall perfect evening!

Highly recommend - great experience! - We had a fab experience - very pleasant, friendly and knowledgable lady taking our group. We loved the small size of the group and sitting in comfy chairs with warm blankets looking up at the sky - so much better than if we had to stand with necks craning upwards! The warm drinks were an added touch, as were the marshmallows to round off the evening 😀 We saw 8 shooting stars, great views through the telescopes and the photo was fab. Highly recommend and would do again for the experience - thank you.

Great experience in the middle of unexpected snow. - Great experience. Night was cold and windy, but the kids were comforted with the hot chocolate and blankets. We got lucky with a clear night in the middle of snow on either side of our visit. They were flexible enough to book us on the very next night.

Amazing tour! - Amazing tour! Learnt lost of interesting star facts and we were lucky to be able to have seen a lot through the telescopes. Loved the addition of the hot chocolate and the marshmallows and firepit and the end was a lovely touch. Highly recommend!

Spectacular stargazing - Spectacular. Such an incredible experience for anyone in Lake Tekapo or surrounds. George was so knowledgeable. We were lucky with the weather and the clear skies. The hot chocolate, free gift, fire pit & marshmallows were an additional bonus (all part of the tour). I hope to return again one day in the future. Definitely a must do.

Awe inspiring experience studying the night sky. - This was one of our favorite activities during our trip to New Zealand, specifically in the Lake Tekapo area. To see the night sky and the milky way in such detail had us in awe. Our guide was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable that our time with her just flew by. We would definitely recommend this activity to anyone staying in and around that area.
