Amazing! - These guys were amazing! The entire tour was very well run and included a lot of interesting information. Hot chocolate and roasting marshmallows on the fire added to the experience. Our children loved it! Choose Chameleon Stargazing when you're next at Lake Tekapo. You won't be disappointed :)

This stargazing experience is a MUST. - This experience has got to be one of the best ones I've ever been on. The boys all make sure that were were warm with blankets throughout the night, we learned a lot about the starts and galaxies, we even got to see planets Venus and Saturn. The telescopes, hot chocolate and marshmellows by the fire only made this experience more memorable. The Chameleon startgarzing tour is a MUST when you come to Lake Tekapo.

Great tour - It was a cold night, we very much appreciated the seating, blanket and fire provided by the company. Our guide was George. Very funny, sweet and knowledgeable. Smores and chocolate milk were enjoyed by all. They all thing I wish were different was the way he had us posed for the picture (free) had us looking away.

The best stargazing tour in Tekapo!! - I had a wonderful time spending the night looking at the stars! George was very friendly & super knowledgeable when describing the night sky. I loved the extra touches of hot chocolate, toasting marshmallows, blankets & a picture in front of the Milky Way (which he emailed to us after the tour). We also got to look through two telescopes at different parts of the sky including nebulas! Great communication throughout regarding the weather conditions for the tour. A relaxing night filled with wonder, I’d highly recommend if you’re staying in Tekapo!

Long awaited viewing of the heavens! - This was a wonderful evening to celebrate our 55th wedding anniversary -very cold but a beautiful clear sky. The guides were knowledgeable and super friendly too. Blankets warded off the cold and hot chocolate kept us warm inside. the laser beams showed us exactly what they were talking about and the telescopes pointed to the various places in the milky way that were spoken about. Tick that off my bucket list....

Breathtaking! - I had never seen so many stars in my life, it is a humbling experience. I highly recommend it as there are fewer places on this planet to connect with the stars.

A fun way to look at stars - One of our favorite experiences in New Zealand. Even if you are not too into stargazing it is still a lot of fun. George really does know a lot about stars and he can convey it in an authoritative and engaging way. All the extras (the hot chocolate, blankets, marshmallows, fire, blankets) make it even better. Because of the small group size, you are never rushed looking at the stars through the telescope or at the astrophotographs. He even took photos of all groupings/families with his own camera (a lot of equipment is used for the tour). Thank you George!
