Highlights
  • Strasburg - Stop at the farm where the Academy Award winning movie “Witness” was filmed. You will have a chance to tour the beautiful Amish farm which remains much as it was in the movie, interact with their many animals and possibly meet the wonderful Amish family who owns the farm. This is a completely private stop and not available to the public.

We will stop at a private and beautiful Amish home, where the kids make birdhouses. Witness Amish craftsmanship up close in the artisan stable and barn - and purchase a birdhouse if you like.

  • Paradise - Tour of an operating, private Amish dairy farm dating back to 1830’s
  • Amish Country - We will take a driving tour through beautiful Lancaster County farmland and learn about the history, culture, religion, and education of the Amish. We will see buildings associated with the very first European settlers from more than 300 years ago, covered bridges, 19th century mills, and more on our way to our first stop.
  • Strasburg - Stop at an Amish owned and operated creamery, where your ice cream is included, and the views are free too. This is ice cream as it should be… rich, fresh, and delicious!
  • Ronks - Shop where the Amish shop, not the tourists. Natural food stores are a staple for the Amish and we will go to an out of the way gem, for an up close look at this Amish run business.

Very informative and enjoyable - Didn't know much about Amish life before tour. After tour I feel I'm ready for the quiz. Dale was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Would recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area who wishes to know more about the Amish and history of the area.

Beautiful countryside - Dale was awesome.very knowledgeable of the countryside. And both cultures. I’ved learned alot. But very sad though, I came all this way from Alabama to eat Amish cuisine and didn’t get any!:( I didn’t know they close early but their homemade ice cream and waffle cone was delicious! Tour was overall amazing!

Great views and great hearing devices - Mike is so smart on Amish and Mennonite. Liked that it a small group in van. Views from every seat. And thank you for hearing device. My gosh. I need no help but my husband does. It helped us both to drown out background noise. Until others decided tour over when we still trying to listen and learn. Mike, say all pay for this tour. Quiet please

Great fun and learning experience - A wonderful tour! Lots of informative conversations and fun. The tour leader was great and very nice/helpful. We visited several Amish farms and had some delicious ice cream. Lots of history and beautiful countryside to see and enjoy. Our 14 year old granddaughter went with us and enjoyed it immensely! Thanks again!

Interesting glimpse of the Amish - Drove from Philly to Lancaster to view this interesting auction of produce, vegetables, flowers, plants and other items made by the Amish community. Since the grounds are usually muddy where the auctions are held in tents hence the title Mud Auctions. Fortunately that day was bright & sunny and the mud was mercifully dried up. The staccato announcements of the auctioneer was truly worth watching and listening to as items got swiftly auctioned. I was informed that the proceeds go towards the maintenance and upkeep of the fire brigade which is run by the Amish Community. An interesting glimpse into rural life of the equally fascinating Amish Community.
