Top Didj & Art Gallery - If you have come to the NT to have an aboriginal experience, Top Didj can give this to you by introducing you to Manuel Pamkal from the Dalabon tribe. First you will receive a wrist band embossed with Manuel’s tribe. Manuel will then showcase the rich culture of the indigenous people of the area by talking to you about the traditional way of living in the bush as he experienced as a child. He will teach you the art of rarrk painting, make fire with two sticks, and test your skills at throwing a spear with a woomera. View or purchase authentic aboriginals art, good quality souvenirs and best didgeridoos in the NT.
The cultural experience is designed to promote a positive experience with the aboriginal people. They own a beautiful culture that amazes many travellers.

The Top Didj Cultural Experience has been developed to offer visitors to the Katherine Region, a unique cultural interaction with the aboriginal people. This is achieved by introducing Manuel Pamkal from the Dalabon tribe. Manuel will teach visitors the traditional way of living in the bush as he experienced as a child. He will tell stories and showcase traditional activities such as fire lighting, spear throwing with a woomera and painting whilst educating visitors about aboriginal culture and way of life.

GREAT EXPERIENCE - This cultural experience was so much fun. Manuel is so lovely and friendly. He had great stories and gave everyone insight into indigenous culture. The spear throwing and fire making was so cool! Absolutely loved this.

Story telling from the heart - Such a fabulous opportunity to hear about life from a local aboriginal man, told from the heart. Manuel shares his story, that is the story of so many people around Katherine that tourists would otherwise not get to hear. Learning to paint in the traditional way and throw a spear was a fun and challenging experience. Highly recommend this to all. The art gallery has an amazing collection for sale and the gift section is well stocked with quality products to remind us if our NT time

Really interesting afternoon - We had a fantastic afternoon here. Manuel was such an interesting and engaging host. We learned a great deal from his stories of a childhood in the bush. He taught us cross hatch painting and we each did a picture to take home. We also learned how to use fire sticks and to throw a spear. A really great experience in a lovely gallery space.

A fantastic Afternoon - We had a fantastic afternoon entertained and enlightened by Manual. Great stories and gave us an insight into his youth growing up on land.
Painting workshop gave both of us a greater understanding of the difficulties doing this but had a great time doing and now have our own piece for the mantle.
Well worth the little cost for the experience had.

Brilliant experience - Come to Katherine and book into this fantastic cultural experience.
Suitable for all ages.
Engaging and so much fun.
Manuel was a fabulous host, who shared his personal stories and guided us all through traditional painting, fire lighting (without matches) and spear throwing.
Beautiful selection of arts and crafts available for sale.
Highly recommend this activity!

Fun and informative experience - We spent a morning doing the cultural experience, led by Manuel. Great fun painting, learning to throw spears and make fire. Good for all ages, and really interesting story sharing too.

Best cultural experience in Katherine - Best cultural activity in Katherine! Top Didj run a fantastic cultural session including stories, fire making, spear throwing and art. Fantastic for kids 4+ up to adults, very enjoyable for the parents too. Little kids also have a toy area if they get bored by the activities. Sensational experience, highly educational and authentic.

Amazing cultural experience that everyone visiting NT should do, highly highly recommended - Amazing experience for the whole family, we all loved hearing Manuel’s stories and the painting and cultural activities were fun and interesting. I highly recommend this activity, well worth the price, it’s been the highlight of our trip
