We scheduled an afternoon... - We scheduled an afternoon hike but it was too hot. Instead of cancelling, Joaquin rescheduled for later in the day and took us higher into the Andes to escape the heat. We thoroughly enjoyed the views and the hiking as well as the picnic.

Manquehue Hike - The hike to the top of Manquehue had some steep sections but was well worth it (1.75 miles each way with a 2700 foot elevation gain overall). The views of Santiago from the top were spectacular, you can see the whole city. We watched birds and gliders soaring. Our guide Consuleo was very knowledgeable and patient and surprised us with a delicious snacks at the top.

Septuagenarian makes it up to summit - When I saw it said up to age 70 I said to myself “Last chance!” ( I turn 71 in May) and although I was apprehensive, I was so proud of myself that I made it up Manqueguito. My adult grandson came with me, and our guide Joaquin was fantastic—knowledgeable and very helpful. I highly recommend this tour.

Fantastic hike with Josquin at Cerro Manquehue!! - If you or looking for a personalized, professional and fun filled day of hiking while visiting in Santiago, Chile, I would highly recommend Ecordua Tours! Josquin, Owner of Ecordua, was the best!! He is extremely knowledgeable of Santiago’s beautiful surroundings and all it has to offer. His regard for safety for his clients while creating a unique adventure tailored to my hiking experience was exactly what I was looking for. What a bonus that he offers with his knowledge of local plants, birds, and animals! Fabulous! Thank you Josquin for making my last day here a most memorable day!

Half day hike with great panoramic views and bird encounters - If you have just a half day, this is a great way to see Santiago from a panoramic vista. Can recommend for anyone fit and active with little hiking experience (even middle aged), with variations from easy graded trails to moderately challenging inclines with rocks/loose soil (recommend hiking boots if possible) (Merrell rated as "baja" (low) difficulty). Saw a variety of small birds and a Chilean Eagle during the hike to Manquehuito summit (smaller of the two overlooks). Take drinks/lunch/sunscreen/sunglasses, and be prepared to get dusty.
