GRAND CANYON HOOVER DAM AND BEYOND! - My three adult children and myself chose to do a private tour out to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam. From the very first contact with Patsy and Donna from Adventure Photo Tours everything went so smooth! What a great team you have with your booking staff and your guides! On our day of the tour right from the pick up point at our hotel we knew that our tour was off to a great start. Clayton our tour guide greeted us with a huge smile and welcoming persona. Breakfast bars, fruit juice were offered to start our day along with water and snacks for the entire day. There was not one part of the tour that any of us could complain about. The stops along the way, the absolutely spectacular Grand Canyon, the lunch choices and the beautiful lunch we chose which was at Hualapai Point, Hoover Dam with a great tour of the underground mechanics of the dam, then on to see the delightful mountain goats in Boulder City - the whole day was just amazing! Clayton was so knowledgable, polite and caring he made us laugh so much and was an absolute joy to spend a long day with! Absolutely one of the best days my children and I have had! Thank you so so much Clayton for being part of our USA experience you are a credit to your wonderful team at Adventure Photo Tours! Best wishes to you all Julie and family x

1st Time Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam Experience - We took the tour bus with Grayline. The driver Dwayne was amazing. He knew the history and was an amazing experienced driver. He came out of retirement to drive us to our destinations. We had a great time! This Dwayne for your passion and the care you took with us as your passagers.

Great trip to Grand Canyon, brilliant guide. - Brilliant trip, breakfast and lunch provided, helicopter tour down into the canyon itself and great tour of the Hoover dam. Unbelievable knowledge from our driver and tour guide Kirk…..the guy had 10,000 facts about vegas and the whole of Nevada. Highly recommend.

The differences between what the tour information stated and what we got... - My wife and I took the Grand Canyon & Hoover Dam Combo Tour a couple of weeks ago. Below are my comments regarding the company and the Grand Canyon & Hoover Dam Combo Tour itself. Regarding the company, I spoke with Patsy on multiple occasions. She was always extremely nice and willing to answer any question. The name of the company is Adventure Photo Tours. During our tour, no emphasis was placed on either adventure or photography. For most stops, our tour guide dropped us off in a parking lot and told us when to be back at the van. The problem is that on most of the stops, he disappeared after dropping us off. Some of us wandered around the parking lot, looking for a van that wasn't there. The instructions on what we were to do during the stops were always confusing. It was obvious that our tour guide, Christian, was just going through the motions of being a guide. He didn't seem to care anything about doing a good job. For example, one time he announced "On your left (or right) is Lake Meade. It is a man-made lake." Painstaking details. At a point, before we started home, he stopped his commentary alltogether. His directions as to what we could do during a stop and when we needed to be back to the bus were very confusing. Here are some comparisons with what the website states vs. what we received. "You have a full hour at Hoover Dam." You can opt to take the tour of the inside of Hoover Dam which takes 45 minutes. The tour costs $15 per person. I'm not sure what is so "VIP" about the exterior of Hoover Dam as we took the inside tour. If you take the inside tour, you'll have very little time for taking pictures of the dam itself. "Three hours to explore the west Rim of the Canyon." This three hours included lunch. The West Rim is just a small part of the Grand Canyon. If you really want to see the Grand Canyon, go to a different location. "Operates Daily at approximately 7:00 AM." That's what they say. When we took this tour, we were picked up at 6:15 AM. They do contact you the day before to let you know what time your pick up will be. "Return time: Approximately 5:30 PM." This may be true, depending on when they drop you off. "Pick-up at hotel." True. "The incredible 900-year-old Joshua tree forest." This "incredible" stop lasted about 15 minutes. "Eagle Point, home to the “Eagle in the Rock” and the world famous Skywalk ($25.00 paid directly to Hualapai)." This is part of the Grand Canyon West/lunch stop. Again, Christian gave us misinformation regarding where to go if we wanted to do the Skywalk. The people who worked there weren't very nice. I don't know why the website stated that the Skywalk cost $25. They wanted to charge us $40 per person. We finally asked for a senior discount and paid $22.50 each. The Skywalk is nothing but a money grab (check out reviews for the Skywalk). They charge to get onto the skywalk. You cannot take any personal belongings with you which means no cameras. They want to do the picture taking for you. Pictures cost $25 for one or $50 for a set of 13. You spend most of your time standing in line to get tickets or to get onto the Skywalk itself. There are so many employees with cameras taking people's pictures, it leaves little room for people who want to see anything. The people who work here were not nice. "Guano Point with stunning East and North Canyon views." I have no idea what this is. If we went there, I'm not aware of it. Again, our tour guide was missing during the Grand Canyon West stop. "Romantic lunch at the Rim." I guess this depends on your idea of a romantic lunch. There are lots of picnic tables just outside the building where they serve food. There are more people than the picnic tables can accomodate. My wife and I wound up sharing one picnic table with two other couples. It was nowhere near the rim. Maybe this is your idea of a romantic lunch. "Native American Dwellings & lots of time to shop." This is part of the Grand Canyon West stop. I remember seeing a very fake tee-pee outside the building where food was served. That's about it. "As a bonus we tour the Historical Old Town of Boulder City, and stop at a local park where herds of Big Horn Sheep often come down from the surrounding mountains to gather and graze on the sweet grass." This is untrue. We never went to Boulder City. We paid $346 a piece for this tour. It could have been good, but it wasn't. Adventure Photo Tours, please do not respond to my review with "Contact me directly next time you are in Las Vegas and I'll do something special for you." I don't plan on going back to Las Vegas or taking another tour with Adventure Photo Tours.

Grand Canyon - Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam were spectacular!!! The driver was not acquainted with proper passenger etiquette. If passengers do not want to get out of the van at a particular stop, they should NOT be coerced.

Not the VIP Experience - The minibus that we were picked up on was fine, nothing fancy. After all parties were picked up, we received a sack breakfast with a hostess breakfast muffin/roll/minimuffins, string cheese and bag of peanuts. The ride to the canyon was uneventful, stopping once to use the restrooms. When we arrived at the canyon is where things took a turn. Unfortunately, instead of being able to use the minibus we drove in, the park apparently did not have any more "passes" meaning we had to wait in line and all cram into the buses that the park provides (standing room only). Once we arrived at the first lookout, we were immediately ushered inside to stand in line for lunch ("since the lines get long later"). Not sure where the picnic lunch that was advertised was, but that would have been a better option to avoid the lines (our guide had left with a couple that were going on a helicopter ride before lunch was over so those of us that were left had to leave the tip). We had wanted to go out on the skywalk, but time did not permit as we needed to stand in line waiting for the bus to take us to the second lookout point. We had a short time at the second lookout point before we again had to wait in line to be taken back to the gift shop where our bus was parked. Very little time actually getting to enjoy the scenery. The stop at the Hoover Dam was fine. We did get to make a stop at a scenic overlook for pictures, then walked over the dam. There was one more stop where those that wanted could take pictures from the tall bridge as well. We really wanted to love this trip. We paid more for the opportunity to get more time and avoid the lines but unfortunately that was not what was provided. The tour company made no apologies or tried to make it right either.

Adventure Photo Tours - Avoid at All Costs - The following is my experience of having the misfortune of booking with Will and Donna Tryon owners of Adventure Photo Tours. Our driver/guide Christian was amazing. I recently had an appalling experience on one of their tours. This company claimed to offer ‘luxury transport’, but the reality couldn't be further from the truth. Their disregard for customer health and safety is truly shocking. We were in a minibus for a gruelling 5.5-hour journey to the Grand Canyon in unbearable 47-degree heat. The vehicle had no working air conditioning, despite their advertisement boasting ‘luxury transportation’. This led to severe discomfort for everyone on board; my wife suffered from heatstroke and was physically sick and I also felt very unwell, It's outrageous that they would subject customers to such conditions without any concern. Despite reaching out to the company multiple times via email, we received one non helpful response and then we were ignored. This isn't just a one-off occurrence—reviews (June 2024 headed ‘Terrible. Read my Description’- 1 Star review) reveal that they have a history of ignoring customer complaints and providing substandard transport, clearly they knew about the air conditioning issue some 5 weeks before subjecting us to heat stroke. Will and Donna Tryon seem more interested in offering lip service rather than actually ensuring the well-being of their clients. The phrase “something special” is a phrase they commonly use to respond. The fact that Will and Donna Tryon think anyone would rebook seems rather arrogant! While the owners might reply with what sounds like a well-crafted response, don't be fooled. Their actions speak louder than their words—they simply don't care. If you value your safety, wellbeing, comfort, and overall experience, I strongly recommend you choose a different operator. Adventure Photo Tours is not worth the risk. Avoid at all costs. It is worth noting no other transport we used during our 9 days in Las Vegas had air conditioning problems, therefore they did not have to try to convince us the cause of the problem was a heatwave, lame! If you have had a similar horrible experience and booked via Get Your Guide, contact them as they are a professional company who actually listen, care and communicate! In your response to this review Will and Donna Tryon, please clarify your description of ‘luxury transport’ and enquire if my wife is well and why you have removed the word luxury from your subsequent adverts. Please also explain why you ignore customer emails but not reviews? Shame on you Will and Donna Tryon!

Terrible. Read my description - I booked the Grand Canyon and Hoover damn tour thru you guys for Friday June 14. We were picked up promptly at 6:45 at Paris hotel by Michael our guide. First off Michael did a great job all day. Could have had one or two less nature stops but that feeling was more than likely brought on by the main issue I’m about to discuss. As we left Vegas in the morning we noticed the air conditioner wasn’t feeling proper. Me and my group set in the back two rows in the sprinter 14 passenger van except for my friend Tim he set up front with Michael. Well as the morning went on we got hot in the back. No air flow and not much cooling at all. Keep in mind this was early. As the day went on we started sweating and had virtually no cooling in the background we were beading sweat down the seats and ourselves. It was literally like a sauna in the back. We notified Michael and he was doing all he could do. Air was on high and everything. Us and a group from England were miserable the entire day. Me and my folks from my group are not ones to complain about anything but this was just unacceptable. There was no air flow or anything for the back half of the van. It got to the point that nobody wanted to continue they just wanted to get back to hotel. It was cooler outside than in the van. It was literally like a sauna in the back rows. If we had been a hair closer to Vegas we would have discontinued the tour and took a Uber or something back. Our friend Tim was actually sweating in the front also as the day went on. Just as a gauge of the severity of this. My wife grabbed a shower at the room when we got back and was unable to go to dinner because of exhaustion. I would have expected alittle refund for my trip. I never asked for that but would have expected of them to offer some refunds. The trip basically was ruined. So go with another company next time they would have made the trip right after the fact when something like this happened with some form of refund They told me in a email the cabin air filters were clogged after the fact . That’s not true i am a mechanic by trade and the air was blowing perfect. The ac itself had issues.
