Day 1: Kershaw Ryan State Park
Kershaw Ryan State Park - Meet the guides on the morning of Day 1 at the Alexis Park Hotel Resort at 8 am for a brief welcome meeting before proceeding to the bike shop for bike fittings. Additional gear can be rented or purchased if needed (such as substitute pedals). Once equipped, the tour will journey through Nevada’s stunning desert landscape to Caliente, NV, arriving at Kershaw Ryan State Park.
Upon arrival, enjoy a picnic lunch before embarking on a half-day ride at Kershaw Ryan State Park (7-10 miles). Kershaw Canyon is a picturesque canyon surrounded by 14 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails. This trail system features a smooth single track and open trails for exploration. Kershaw Redemption, a 7-mile loop built by Sierra Trail Works, is the highlight of this area. It’s beginner-friendly, but the real excitement begins when you pick up speed and find your rhythm. There are several shaded spots along the ride for breaks and water refills!
In the evening, enjoy a group meal together, which is self-paid.

Cathedral Gorge State Park - This morning, travel through more of Nevada’s breathtaking scenery towards Ely, NV. Along the way, enjoy a visit to the beautiful Cathedral Gorge State Park for a short hike and exploration of some slot canyons! Cathedral Gorge is a hidden gem in the desert. After a picnic lunch en route, arrive midday and enjoy an introduction and town tour of Ely, Nevada, before heading to Ward Charcoal Ovens State Park. Your guide will lead a short 2-3 mile hike to see the Charcoal Ovens, which are still fully intact and were used to process much of the silver ore from the late 19th century.
Check into your hotel in the late afternoon.

Great Basin National Park - This morning, head to Great Basin National Park, a one-hour drive away. Nevada’s only National Park, how exciting! This morning, enjoy the Lehman Cave tour and sights at Great Basin National Park. A ranger will guide you through the caves at this iconic park. Tours last between 60-90 minutes. This afternoon, enjoy an included lunch in the town of Baker at a special farm-to-table gem, showcasing some culinary specialties.
This afternoon, head to Sacramento Pass for a 3-5 mile ride. Your guides will discuss the loop you will take this afternoon, not exceeding 700 feet in elevation change. It’s a pleasant way to conclude the trip with a short ride on White Pine County’s BLM land, overlooking some of the state’s most concentrated 12,000-foot peaks.
Return to Ely in the early evening.
