An informative stroll along the wall - Maricar’s tour of Manila’s Intramuros, and parts of Chinatown is a truly exceptional experience. Her deep passion for the Philippines history and Manila’s past and culture is evident as she expertly guides you through the iconic sites. From the haunting atmosphere of the dungeon prison, the Manila Cathedral, to Fort Santiago, and to the architectural splendor of San Agustin Church, Maricar brings each location to life with captivating stories, historical insights and contexts. Exploring the American barracks and the historic Fort Santiago with her is both enlightening and engaging, as she connects the past to the present in a way that’s both informative, entertaining and like a walk in a park—a relaxed atmosphere. Her warm, humorous and welcoming personality kept me involved and engaged throughout the tour. For anyone looking to delve into Filipino and Intramuro’s rich and proud history, Maricarr’s tour is an unforgettable journey. Would certainly repeat

Fun. Eyeopening. Educational - Mari was very learned about Philippines' history and made sure to connect the various stops we visited to history as well as their contemporary significances. I also liked how she narrated the culture of the people as we went from one site to another. Overall I learned a lot from the experience would totally recommend.

A short introduction to Philippine history - Overall, the tour was a great introduction to Philippine history. Mari is an engaging and enthusiastic guide who capably manages to condense several centuries of Philippine history into a 15min introduction before the tour begins, and as someone unfamiliar with it it was the perfect way to prepare me for the tour and highlight the significance of each of the sites. Fort Santiago was the most striking, being the focal point of many battles and atrocities.. The Intramuros has been the site for pivotal, yet tragic shifts in Philippine history and this tour will help you fully appreciate it.

Great quick and very informative tour! - My family and I enjoyed this tour - excellent tour guide and great locations to visit. We saw and learned so much in just 2-3 hours! Our tour guide shared a thorough overview of Intamuros history, and she was very engaging and available for questions throughout the tour. We had a smaller tour size of 6 which made the experience more intimate and less stressful. I'd absolutely recommend this tour to family and friends! Side note: I also appreciate how the tour guide supports the local businesses in Intramuros, and it was nice to see that she had genuine connections with folks in the community.

Enlightening Walking Tour! - Mari was such a detailed tour guide, we really enjoyed learning the rich history of Manila! She went through the Spanish, American colonisations and Independence of Manila, as well as parts of the WW2 history. Even though it was a walking tour, it did not feel tiring and it felt like we had ample time at each destination. I had a lot of fun on the ride in their local transport as well ☺️ I highly recommend Mari as she’s a very considerate and informative guide, we really appreciated her providing bottled water for us to beat the very hot day!

Walk back in time - My wife and I enjoy history and culture and have done a lot of Spanish colonial and mission tours in California. So I was proud to share with my wife the Filipinos side on how my forefathers suffered from Spain and Japan takeover. Mari and I played a little quiz and we both find our facts solid. Mari is very passionate about history and the Filipinos and she's also fun, personable, very bubbly and takes great photos! I am glad we did this tour with her, because there's so many tours going around and she's definitely better than some tour guides who doesn't pay attention and just spit out facts. We started with history orientation, followed by across street walk to San Agustin and Casa Manila. Then we took a pedal side car bike called Lamborghini ride to Intramuros! Then we walk across Manila Cathedral. The Philippines curator did a great job keeping artifacts preserved for future generations. It's a 3 hr tour, not an exhausting walk because Mari will pace with you plus you're sight seeing, you're not rushed, and the furthest length on campus was taken on a passenger ride. All entrances are taken care of Mari and everyone knows her. She gets front of the line. I highly recommend this tour, this is an immersion, you'll feel the energy inside of Intramuros and be moved. You'll imagine the rich parties at Casa Manila, the sufferings of WW II and holiness of the oldest church in Manila. You don't have to be a history buff to appreciate humanity from it's simple roots shaken by modernism. If your Filipino, you should do this tour with Mari.

Highly recommended tour of Intramuros! - This is a private walking tour of Intramuros. It was really interesting to see, in particular, the Cathedral, the Fort and Casa Manila. The tour guide, Mari, was exceptional. She was very knowledgeable and gave a good historical summary on Intramuros and this part of Manila's early history. She was also very cheerful and made the tour highly enjoyable. I have no hesitation in recommending this tour to anyone who wishes to see Intramuros.
